one thing I really love about Peter B Parker's design is his proportions. He's tall, lanky, but athletic. He doesn't really have the standard jacked superhero bod he's usually portrayed with and I think that's to the design's benefit. Plus the reflective webbing does a great job of grounding the suit.

My favorite classic suit design has to be the Raimi suit. The raised webs, the colors, the sharp menacing lenses, the logos, its all just PEAK SPIDER-MAN. *And this is totally not bias due to my overexposure of the Raimi movies growing up*

I think the 90s show could've really benefited from black comic shading. So that the shadows could really define his muscles and musculature. That's why I love the classic suits from the Unlimited show and Earth's Mightiest Heroes so much. Comic shading on Spider-Man really just adds sauce to the design.

And you don't have to look much further than the other Marvel tv shows in the 90's. The Fantastic 4 (season two) and the X-Men are perfect examples of dark shading in a cartoon. Even when the X-Men showed up in Spider-Man TAS they looked incomplete because of that

Something that I’m surprised not many people talk about is that the “Raimi suit” is technically 2 suits. The suit in Spider-Man 1 is different from 2 and 3. The front and back logo, and the eye shape are different, the blue is darker, and the soles are black instead of red. I know not many people notice because it’s kinda hard to tell the difference at a first glance, but I personally prefer the first suit over the other Rami suits. It looks more classic to me, especially the eyes. The eyes on the first suit were more round, yet still triangle shaped and it worked! 😊

Spiderman TAS benefits in the costume changing slightly because when the suit gets damaged, Peter would have to make a new one, at times, and it makes sense for it to be different every time he makes a new one, but a logical answer would be maybe because of the different artists working on the show over the years.

It feels like if you say the back of Tom’s NWH final swing suit isn’t a comic accurate logo, then saying Raimi is comic accurate is a stretch (unless he’s talking about the size of the back logo on the NWH suit). Raimi’s is definitely an incredible reinvention of the suit that makes it dynamic and designed for live action as opposed to comic books. And it (along with the Raimi movies as a whole) definitely became a golden standard (for better or for worse when comparing movies).

If you do a part 2, maybe expand slightly out of Peter Parker default suits to classic-adjacent outifts like Sensational Spider-Man, Miles’s Great Responsibility suit, Spinerett, Far From Home, etc . Stuff that very obviously stems from the classic suit as a baseline but is trying to be something other than a take on Peter’s typical red and blues. Maybe stuff like that would add too much additional suits and I do apologize if I’m being unreasonable

In fact, in a low budget cartoon, I’d say a tick logo and a spider logo would be almost identical. I might get some hate for this, but I never really saw the hype with the Raimi suit. The raised webbing has always been kind of off-putting to me. My favourite suit probably has the be the current Spiderman suit in the 2024 Ultimate Spiderman run. I think the sharp eyes and spider are fitting for a much older and more aggressive looking Spiderman. (Raimi suit is still a classic though. No denying that.)

I would love a part 2. I agree with most of this, but if it were up to me personally, I would put PlayStation higher, TASM 1, and Marvel's Avengers lower. However, 1967 being so low and being known only for memes is too harsh. It was the first ever adaptation of Spider-Man and has the most iconic theme song of any Spider-Man movie or show. My favourite suits would have to be Shattered Dimensions, Insomniac, 1610 Ultimate, MTV, and Ripeter/Peter B suit.
