I haven’t smelt Stercus but I have a sample of Viride and it’s very nice. Not like anything else I know of. Gaultieri is a genius. Awaiting absinthe and Duro in post.

I have to agree with you @yvngpyrolauncher but I've discovered that this one gets mixed reactions....some people really pick up on the 'poopiness' of the fragrance💩 For me it's just a sweet woody gorgeous fragrance♥️ Thanks for jumping into the conversation👊🏽

Last year, I was trying some perfume owned by a collector. At that time, I was new to niche perfume. I knew at that time certain perfume houses, but had yet to try them. So when I saw them, I instantly started to try them. The recoil I had when I tried faecal oud (I didn't know the notes at that time) in one of the perfumes I sampled, I don't think I'll ever forget my reaction 😅😂

nice to see some Orto's again :) Stercus! i prefer that over viride, it doesnt smell like the name for me, it doesnt last as long as megamare or begamask or terroni but its very nice, elias seems a nice guy, nice review guys

Big fan of Viride myself. Love green fragrances. Stercus is quite alright however, very delicately offensive to those new to fragrances but not as shocking as it's made out to be, in my humble opinion.

In my opinion the best oud-focused fragrances are: Amouage King Blue, Amouage Silver Oud, Amouage Oud Ulya, Nishane Nefs, Tom Ford Tobacco Oud, and PDM Haltane

How would you compare Stercus to Oud Wood/TF, since both are Oud. I have not sampled Stercus and would love to know your view. Thanks.

Awesome question! My problem is that I've only tested Oud Wood once and it was good and easy on the nose. I haven't had the chance to compare the 2 side by side. However my thoughts would be that Oud Wood would be designed to be a more mass appealing being that TF is a main stream brand. Whereas Orto Parisi (and the crazy Alessandro Gaultieri) is purposely trying to mess with your brain🤯😳 So off the cuff, Stercus would be a lot more potent...but as mentioned this is only conjecture as I haven't tested side by side. @@TheNicheFragranceCollector I received my decant of Stercus and you are absolutely correct, OW/tf is very mainstream; both, however, are completely different in profile and OW is gone by the time you sit for breakfast. As you jovially mentioned about AG, I’ve noticed in the 2-3 fragrances that I have from him they sort of vanish after 3-5 hours and you think its gone, but then it wakes up again in a whole new form and sticks around only for you to get whiffs or someone in very close proximity. Cuoium happens to be my favourite fragrance and together with Margiela Untitled, I could live with only these two. Love your work !

So for someone who does appreciate the first fragrance, what's the attraction to it? Why would you want to smell like that. No hate, genuine question.

Awesome question and 100% makes sense...."why do you want to smell of poo????"😑 Oud is a complex fragrance note. Up close, yes, it does have fecal like quality to it; but it's sillage is stunning. Complex, rich, woody, resinous...and a little bit poopy As humans we love 'sassy' smells. Have you ever smelt something unusual (stinky) and was repulsed but then went back for a second smell? Repulsion/Attraction is this weird human thing. Oud works on that Personally, Oud is glorious. I love smelling it on me and love it when I can smell that in the air. Although it takes time to fall in love with this Hope that helps a bit...thanks for reaching out @Linska495th
