Kroger is the umbrella company for a bunch of brands like Safeway. They also bought Albertsons back in 2020 I think. Kroger is also Smith’s and Fred Meyer. I believe Ralph’s and Von’s are also under the Kroger brand. Similar with laundry detergent. Sun Products is the parent company and basically does all of the brands and sort of compete with themselves. It’s crazy how few companies actually make the products we buy.

I worked for kroger for 20 years as a mechanic. And yes their fried chicken is standardized nationwide. All of the deli employee take a class on how to cook the chicken. And they had a deep fryer company design a special fryer that automatically filters the oil after ever fry. That's why theor chicken is so good.

Gwynedd you guys need to taste test nugget markets prepared foods. They are elite compared to any other grocery store. The rotisserie chicken is super good and all the pastries and soups are all mostly made in store super fresh super good.

Actually Rhett, the Wal-Mart Deviled egg potato salad IS NOTmade in the store itself but is delivered on a " frozen and dairy* truck which comes in daily and is stocked by the deli workers😊

Being from oceanside/SD/LA and i love ralphs but since moving to forida to care for my 90 year old grandma.. Publix is the best, the whole area where you would get a sandwich made at ralphs.. here is a whole thing, fresh made to order tacos, the fried chicken area, the deli.. and my fave is the sushi bar, it's made to your order like going to chipotle they make right there in front of you, also their poke bowls are soo good! Publix >

As a truck driver, all that is being made by a 3rd party. Walmart cakes for instance is made by rise bakery. That potato salad was made by someone. Same as Ralph, whole foods, ect. I do a lot of rise/ dawn bakery loads to Walmart. Lots of frozen fries. All food from these stores are the same.
