It's easy to disregard that decade of Wenger's without silverware, but at the same time he maintained Arsenal's position as a Top 4 club. That alone is a difficult task, consistency over time is the most difficult achievement of all, which is why SAF is rated so highly. Just look at Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal over recent years and how they've yoyoed up and down the table. This is also a fact I think counts against Pep slightly. The competition at the top of the table hasn't been as consistent. SAF always had a main challenger, but the other top clubs were usually always dangerous as well. During Pep's time, he's generally only really had one challenger (first Liverpool, then Arsenal... maybe now both) while half of the other big clubs have been floundering.

One thing they didn't mention about Wenger which I think is worthy of a mention is that after the FA cup against united in 05, Arsenal underwent a HUGE change and became more or less a completely different team at 06-07. We can see now with United and Chelsea how hard it is to build a winning team. So Arsenal underwent huge changes and had to rebuild, at the same time they moved to Emirates and was in debt, and if that wasn't enough, Chelsea was coming big with lots of money...few years later City came in with huge money. Arsenal were in a position were they literally couldn't complete with 3 money giants, while being in debt and had to rebuild the entire team. It might sound extreme "10 year without a title", but given all the circumstances I would say it would almost be impossible for Wenger to win a PL.

It’s interesting that they cherry picked Mourinhos best at Chelsea, but didn’t talk about Man United or Spurs. Mourinho is a great manager when things go his way, but doesn’t have resiliency when things aren’t. Arsene Wenger didn’t just manage the team, he managed the club. He made Arsenal profitable after moving to a huge new stadium, under pressures that none of the others faced. I think Sir Alex has to be number 1, Pep second, Wenger 3rd, Mourinho 4th and Klopp 5th.

The disrespect towards Wenger is on next level! If you are going to take the beginning into context for SAF then why not for Wenger? From Arsene who to their best ever manager. Everyone talks about Guardiola changing the football style but it was Wenger who was the pioneer in playing silky smooth football. The invincible team didn't get 90 points but then that was not the aim of any of the teams during that era. It has become a necessity recently! I still feel the 100 points tally can be broken before the invincible season can be repeated. From a Liverpool fan!

Only change I’d make to the list is having Klopp over Wenger. In terms of actual coaching you can argue Klopp has coached 3 PL winning sides (his 3 best point finishes all beats the invincible Arsenal team) and arguably one more CL winning team (making it 2 in total). Being up against Pep just sucks; because he is defo the GOAT. SAF has longevity, but dob’t get it twisted; Pep beats him to that title every day of the week.

I think it’s more interesting to look at what they have all achieved and examine who else could have possibly done what they’ve done at their respective clubs. Which is why, for me, it’s Fergie and Wenger at the top, for different reasons. I don’t think any other manager could have done what they did at and for their clubs, and it’s why I believe they’re in a class of their own. Guardiola - whilst brilliant, yes - has had unlimited financial support to the point where he pretty much just points at the players he wants and City go “ok”. Mourinho, also brilliant, but so little resilience. When the going gets tough, Mourinho gets going. And Klopp is brilliant, I genuinely love him as a manager, but he’s really struggled to manage the ageing of his peak Liverpool squad, but seems to be turning that around now.

Pep is greatest coach & Wenger is the greatest manager. To be greatest manager one should have massive contributions outside the field. Wenger changer football culture & built Arsenal. Most of them excelled in a club & stadium already built.

Fergie completely rebuilt United into a global force. Before him we last won a league title in 66/67, we were relegated in 73/74 and promoted the next season. At the start of his United career we were 11th, 2nd,11th and 13th. He was nearly sacked. He then made them the dominant force for a decade. Won a treble and never had a drought anything like Wenger. His lowest finish in the premier League era was 3rd. Wenger is not even close to Fergie

Wenger was playing Europa in his 22nd season, whats your point, there is far more competition nowadays, there is a "big 6" which wasn't a thing back in Wengers early days, and even Newcastle who are an oil club now as well. In fact, Klopp's arrival was the beginning of the end for Wenger, Klopp's first full season 16/17 was when Wenger ended up finishing outside of the top 4 and same thing happened the following season. Klopp got to 3 UCL finals within 5 years, Wenger had 1 UCL final in his entire career. Wenger's highest point tally was 90, Klopp had 3 seasons that were better than that. Wenger was great but chill with the Klopp disrespect.

Pep is a fantastic tactician; when he has a ready made team to work with and deep pockets to reach into when needed. He hasn't faced the same level of competition that Mourinho, Wenger and SAF faced during their eras. Klopp just edges it over him for me, despite Peps incredible achievements, purely and simply for the fact that Klopp had to struggle and fight to bring Liverpool out of the depths himself and restore the great culture that they had lost over the years preceding his arrival. Pep has never had to do that in his career. Realistically, SAF is the only true choice for best manager in EPL history. The culture he instilled in the club, the rivalry with Wenger, the way he forced the league and other teams to adapt to his way of football time and time again, the trophies and accolades, the amount of world class players he brought to the team. All of it. The Godfather of EPL management, second only in history to Cruyff.

Think you’re being harsh placing Klopp last, 3 x 90+ pts finishes, 6 major trophies, 4 European finals in 7 years!! With a minimal budget. You failed to mention the toxicity that Wenger and Jose brought to their clubs. When half your fan base wants you sacked, that surely undermines one’s credibility as the greatest pl manager of all time. However if you’re basing the list solely off premier league titles won, then the order is correct.

PEP - GOAT! People talk about a big spender, teams need to spend big to win, (Real/Barca) but others have spent huge too and still can't get close to him. Team changers like Allyson, VVD, Rice cost big! FERGIE - Got to factor in MU was the only one with big money during his dominant times, when others got $$$'s too, their Dominance ended. Left with the team in bad shape and personaly recommended Moyes! KLOPP - Pushed CITY all the way in several seasons and after watching a vid of atrocious VAR decisions against them, would have won more titles, especially in those 2 seasons that lost it by 1pt. A team that the World spoke about. Building a team to be champions again soon. MAUREENIHO - Achieved some big stats seasons, but had some anti-football teams too. 3rd season burnout of him/players. His drama's were utterly toxic! WENGER - Didn't ever retain the title but we were on a never ending end of 'horrid' REF decisions always in MU's favour. He even called one 'dishonest' on the sideline, which was picked up by the microphone. He was banned.fined but 'interestingly' never sued for slander. His reign was in 2 contrasting parts. Brilliant 1st, plucking gems like he was stood under a short apple tree, but 2nd part, was as if he had glasses made from those Circus mirrors that alter your shape, becoming the 'Shallow Al' of a manager when recruiting Stayed on far too long that tainted his legacy. No top team has lost so big to rivals, getting hit for 8, 6's, 5's. Refused to get a capable CDM for 10yrs.
