Same I’ve tried concealers by nearly every hyped brand from drugstore to high end!! The only one that never failed me was the Bare Minerals liquid concealer but it barely has a shade range 😬

Girl....you're not gonna hurt my feelings with my lock it "paint" and double wear foundations 🤣🤣🤣. As a super oily girl in the Caribbean sun....I need these especially when I'm on site 🤣. I love the fenty pro matte foundation but like the shade of the hydrating foundation from them better. That L'oreal infallible foundation was really hyped up for a line that had a horrible shade range ( the powder though....😍). Thanks for reminding me about the true match foundation. GIRLLL! The Kat Von D foundation had your whole face looking like a Ballon! No Dimension to your face, we had to put the dimensions back in the face on a different level than what I prefer know from a foundation now. The last time I wore the KVD foundation, I went to a Super Bowl party and my niece was side eyeing me when she picked me up. But when I tell you people at the party were doing a double take when they got a good look at me for the first time! And it wasn’t because I was Beat for the Gawds! Lol

Hyperpigmentation, spots from bumps I would not stop messing with, and I fell in love with full coverage right then. But this is like spackle if you use too much, and I used too much! Lol. Now I’m serious about my skincare and I don’t have a need to spackle on foundation. I’m sure you are correct that used in a sensible amount, it will not look like sheet rock, but it’s also MATTE, MATTE! I will do a soft matte, but I’ve gotten to the age that soft, plumped and hydrated is what I’m going for.

Not Double Wear being meh and MUFE Ultra HD being if you like it, I love it! Those were my special occasion OGs. The KVD was a bad color match for me and it was too full coverage to do that. On the plus side, it covered my melasma. I actually recently repurchased the Hourglass stick foundation. Love this video. Make this a series.

The Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation for me is definitely in the “You can’t sit with us” category! It serves me everyday flawless every time. I literally could not go anywhere without someone stopping me to say how beautiful my skin was (pre-Covid of course, lolz). 10 out 10 would definitely recommend!

I used to be a double wear girl, I left it for a few years and because I used to use the 6c1 which was too red. After years of being disappointed with other foundations I came back to it last month with a new shade (7w1 - I realised the warms run lighter than the cools so you can't just jump straight over to switch undertones) Girl, it's like coming home and better. Nothing sits on my skin as well. And now with 7w1 nothing has as good a match. I'm looking at all my other foundations like "Am I going to let them spoil or dry up?" So I respect your opinion but you can take double wear out of my cold, dead hands

Btw I think we are similar skintones you're just a tad darker (which 7w1 is on me but I like it) so if you want to try it again with the undertone being good for a neutral/deep olive girl try 7w1 or 7w2

I agree! NARS Sheer Matte was my Holy Grail but the Sheer Glow is their best foundation! The MUFE HD did absolutely NOTHING for me, either, but I use the powder foundation.

Phewwwwww I feel you on these: The MAC studio fix i had in NW44 and used to oxidize to a YELLOW color. I legit looked sick halfway thru the day. If I could fight a foundation I would. The pro matte loreal..........seeing as how I was literally orange.....we don't talk about her. The KVD was the only foundation I've ever returned. It was red and when I bought it, I literally just used pencil liner and mascara 🥴 couldn't even fix the tone with concealer...since I wasn't using it.

I actually agree with your opion on Estee lauder. One it's overpriced and I bought it years ago foolishly thinking if a foundation. Is expensive it must be really good. I applied it was like meh. I feel the same way about Lacome. Like I can take it or leave it. My best drug store foundation actually Revlon. I bought that on a whim when the I was travelling because the airline lost my luggage and i had somewhere to be. It looked great on me. As for high end urban decay and Mac worked well for me. Fenty is cool too.

I had to pause mid video to comment because I am just SHOCKED! Your ranking of OG too faced foundation vs the matte version surprised me so much! I have dry skin so I have to be a lil careful watching your videos because I just go out and buy what you recommend half the time because you’re the bomb but my dry af skin can’t do some of the products the way yours does (obviously) but I 1000% prefer the matte version of the TF foundation over the OG version. I realize I’m writing a lot of comments, but I just feel like sharing. The make up forever ultra HD foundation was my only foundation for probably about ten years (way before I was into makeup). The deepest shade was for a lighter skinned black woman, but blending will always save you (I’m a shade darker than mouth). I recently found it in an old make up bag, and I compared the shade I have now to it, and it’s literally night and day. L O L what were they thinking with the shades back then? I wish I kept it instead of throwing it out just to have a piece of makeup history. I personally love that foundation so much, but I do think it is a starter foundation, as she says. I got it on my first trip to Sephora ever. I asked a sales person was the best foundation was, and that’s what she led me to because I have normal skin. I don’t know if that makes a difference, but there it is. I know this video is a year old, but I’m hoping there are people still watching and commenting like me. It’s somewhat timeless…just needs an update this year. I’m sure I’ll have more to say as the video goes deeper. I thought this video would bore shit out of me, but it’s actually really interesting. I have close to 100 foundations (from covergirl to la mer), and I have all of these so far. I have not tried all of them, so that’s why the video is so interesting to me. Now I can’t wait! ❤️❤️❤️😬😅

I started with dream matte mousse, used it for years. Then I went to Mac studio fix, I used it for years but I eventually started disliking it and felt it didn’t match me. Moved on to Maybelline fit me which I did like. Now I’m on Nars soft matte and I LOVE IT, I don’t love the price tho lol. I’m going to try the sheer glow now

Dang I dont think Ive ever tried any of these new foundations besides a sample of fenty but I couldn't even continue wearing it bc the sample was the wrong shade :/ perhaps I should get hip lol I tried MAC about 10 years ago and it worked and haven't switched up sense, if it aint broke dont break it. My heart was hurt over the l'oreal pro matte, that's all I used for like 3 years lol 🤣😂🤣😂 but the shade range if you were chocolate was terrible👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 especially when they had a great shade range for the true match. You would think they would make some history especially after the hype of pro matte with lots more shades. I also enjoyed the original fenty profilter still got it. I need to try the sheer glow from nars cause I'm obsessed with the soft matte currently 💕 I enjoyed this please make a part 2!!!💯

This just shows that everyone's skin is different,estee lauder is my fave and too faced is my "i don't know her",i look like a grease ball when i wear it although i really wanted to like her.This was very educational for me.Keep it up

I’ve never been big on double wear or Lancôme signature foundations that made them popular with younger people...but that’s just me. Also I’m sooooo glad somebody else agrees with me on the makeup forever foundation too.

«Oily skin » could have been in the title cause a few of the foundations at the top got me saying :hell naaahh with my dry skin 😭😭😭 However, it's a very nice video because it gives us a good indication of brands that have a nice shade range for us, melanin girls. Thanks for showing us.
