I had never heard of this game before, but I feel the love the devs had for SOTC when making this game. The bosses in terms of look are great even if the game play for a few was horrible. Nice job!

Great video, Jack! I haven't played this game, but I definitely see the developers' love for Shadow of the Colossus here. SotC has one of my favorite boss rosters in any game (even if there are some Colossi I don't enjoy fighting), and it has to be an incredibly difficult game to live up to. Many developers seem to struggle with creating bosses that provide a fair balance of both challenge and fun, resulting in difficult bosses that are just frustrating, instead of exhilarating to battle. Good puzzle bosses are especially tricky to design, as exemplified by how many of FromSoftware's puzzle bosses have failed in execution (e.g. Bed of Chaos). It sounds like Praey for the Gods failed to fill the shoes of Shadow of the Colossus, but it's nice to hear that they at least made a few good bosses along the way. I think another aspect of Shadow of the Colossus' bosses that sets them apart from those of many other games is the varying temperaments of the Colossi. For instance, Phalanx is an extremely passive boss that is so massive that it doesn't even seem to be aware of your existence. Conversely, Dirge is incredibly aggressive and relentlessly pursues you at high-speed throughout the fight. This also lends itself well to the moral ambiguity of the story, as you probably don't feel bad about slaying a predatory beast like Dirge but begin to question what you're doing when you attack the less hostile Colossi (not to mention the haunting atmosphere surrounding Malus's fight and the inclusion of "Demise of the Ritual"). I still think SotC is one of gaming's greatest examples of environmental storytelling (i.e., most of the narrative resulting from the gameplay and visual cues, rather than dialogue), and the boss fights serve that purpose well. Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!

OK, you don't get to talk about Kevin Conroy's pronunciation of Ra's after the way you pronounce satyr.

So until I did my second play through of the game I was 100% on board in regard to the yeti. I hated him so much that I wanted to go in the game and take care of business myself. That being said, on my second play through I found out that all you have to do to get a good shot at his red eyes is wait until he punches the ground. His eyes stay lit which qualifies for the damage shot. He’s still and lower to the ground so you can easily make the shot. Then you can grapple onto his back and get to his head and then his shoulders you can save stamina by just kind of sliding down his arms. It was so much harder before I knew this lol. I just wanted to let you know as I was just as frustrated as you are with him haha. That being said this absolutely made my day that you dubbed him the worst because I hated him so much too 😂👍🏼

I enjoyed the game, however some of the bosses pissed me the fuck off for how annoying they are. Especially the yeti.
