I think you should have done this with some medium weight cargo(about 10-15t), since you'll mostly be hauling that. Some trucks might be really fast on their own, but with a trailer the results of this test will be much different because chassis will also play a role.

yes, the Renault Magnum is good in this vid because it doesnt weigh that much, but it doesnt have hp so if you take some load its one of the slowest i'd think DAF would be kinda good in that section since its the market they build for

@@tmkongen Yes I know, but I am stating that in practice that result doesn't have much meaning, because you are essentially ignoring chassis. Therefore, the winning truck here is not necessarily the best beginner truck

I think he shoud be use just 1 type of gearbox with identical diff. ratio and then take some load up to 15t and test it. I drive lorry for my whole life and for my opinion Volvo is nr.1 Scania nr.2 MAN nr.3 Volvo has the best gearbox and engine for distance driving and the fuel economy is mind blow

Just for purely "scientific research" recently I have decided give it a try and use 310hp Iveco for a while. Took 18t cargo contract (32t total border weight check) on 2000km+ and it felt like all 12 gears of cheapest gearbox were put in use. Had to drive on manual most of the time because automatic was kinda useless for this combo. Reaching 90kph even on flat road took ages and was impossible most of the time.

The fastest truck, which is customized, but not modded is the old FH16 Volvo with the right transmission and accessories, it can hit 178km/h on a flat road. I use it on truck races :) And if save editing is also enabled, one more step can improve this max speed to 180km/h, with changing the gearbox to another. But it is still the vanilla game, without any mods.

But if the test was a comparison between the best and most powerful trucks, the Scania and Volvo would win easily since they have the most powerful engines in the game. And no, There is no Renault truck both in the game and in real life that has "the most powerful engine out of them all". in the game, Volvo is the most powerful truck with an engine that has 750 HP. Scania is the second most powerful in the game with an engine that has 730 HP. In real life, the most powerful mass production truck in the world is the Scania with an engine that has 770 HP. Volvo is the second most powerful with an engine that has 750 HP.

@@kai325d3 That's like saying if you buy a BMW M3 instead of the basic BMW 3 series, then the M3 is an upgraded one. The more expensive trucks are not "upgraded". They are simply more powerful stock cars. But you can buy a cheap truck and manually upgrade it to be the same as the more powerful stock cars, just like you can buy M3 parts and manually upgrade your 3 series to be the same as a stock M3.

So with the Iveco trucks I want to point out from my experience while not the fastest the have a wide torque range and hood torque for the HP of the engines offered and they get pretty good fuel economy. If I remember right the Iveco Stralis is basically the best cheapest truck. They aren’t super fast but that wide torque range helps and they don’t drop as much speed for the power going up hills.

I used my first Truck Volvo FH14 around +400,000km and then changed it to Scania S because of the V8. I was driving around 750,000km with the S model, and now I'm Driving Scania R, which (I think) is going to be best truck for me. I have driven with every truck Brand that is currently in ETS2, only because I wanted to complete that one achievement in the Steam, but I can't really say I like any other trucks than Scania and Volvo. Every other Truck model had some features that I didn't like, mostly it was because of the weak engine, but sometimes it was just some random dislikeness. I could say Volvo FH14 is best truck to start with, just because of my personal starting experience with it.

I bet the Iveco won the break test because it's a relatively light unit compared to the other ones. Iveco's in the past, and especially the model that won the break test, feel really basic and cheap inside. They really feel like to saving was spared when they made those trucks.

One of my favorites I had was a Renault Premium with a low-mid level engine power. Had to be a bit more careful about which loads I could travel with, the gearing was such that I could easily run in top gear and not feel like RPM was too low even at 80 km/h, and honestly a bit more fun than "all the power, nothing can stop me" as with the top-end Volvo or Scania engines.

I chose that Renault because of a certain guide in Steam and I'm loving it (almost 10k km in it)! Not only the engine and gearbox performs nicely, I also felt comfy with the cabin's interior as well!

I modified the DAF 2021 to the maximum and the top speed reached 140+ km/h(no trailer). And I often speed up when the remaining time is running out :) I suggest the next episode add a mod truck, I thought "what about the Mercedes-Benz Urban-e Truck"? :)

this video's start alone makes my dad's truck feel slow, since it has a max limited speed of 90 km/h, if you exceed it the truck will say slow down, the truck is a volvo i-save 470

Volvo and scanias are always the best, the magnum base motor is bigger rhan the other smaller motors, and renaults in general have volvo' motor and cinematic, to to paragon you have to take, for example, every 460hp motor, all whjt the highter cab, ecc, in rwal life often when new models come out they make consumption test in this way, aniway great video :D 👍 Ps keep going whit volvo and scania ;)

strange because with the Volvo FH 2012 I can reach 160km/h with trailer, same with the scania 2009 I can reach more as 150km/h what gearbox you use? and what engine? because lower engine can maybe reach higher top speed as the big engine because of weight difference same what type of cabin, because of aero drag

It won because it comes stock with a bigger engine than anything else. Put an upgrade to the Scania or Volvo and it will fly past the Renault.

@@jiwoo2820 I don't know how much HP it actually has, I thought around 370. Probably more than 400. I know that both Volvos start with a 420 HP engine cause they are my favorite trucks. I just like the styling on the 2009 model, but I also think the blocky Magnum has a cool cab :)

In my opinion Renault Premium is one of the best trucks. I highly recommend it as first truck. --------------------------------------------------------- Its very cheap. It has good mirror positsions and sizes. Its small but powerful. Customizable in every way. The only downside for me is that it has not many gearbox and engine choices. But as i said, it may look small and useless. In reality it can haul even heavy trailers.

Oh yes. I remember back in 2012 when I started to play this game, my first truck was really basic white colored Renault Premium. I was stunned. What memories 😍 I still drive it sometimes for old time's sake. But I'm driving with Volvo FH 2012 with 750 hp, so I'm spoiled by it's speed and power 😂

Fully upgraded Scanias and Volvos are better than the Renault. The Renault also comes stock with a better engine and the Iveco is much smaller so its understandable why it stopped faster. And these tests are absolutely useless because they are without trailers.

This is at all driving simulator not a racing game so top speed doesn't matter. I'm driving up to 80 km/h per hour and I have limiter on. Game engine doesn't allow to drive with huge speed.
