Easy by Elden Ring standards but, even if it’s unpopular, I think this game is the series at its best when it comes to balancing difficulty, spectacle and intuitive gameplay. It will always be up there with Bloodborne for my favorite but in that specific department related to boss design, it takes the cake for me

Fr. Ds3 bosses overall r just way better quality but ER has some amazing bosses as well. Compared to ds3, ER's has more mid to bad bosses. But what pisses me off the most is that FS literally perfected gank fights in ds3, and then threw all of that away in ER for some bullshit difficulty. Even with summons, the ER gank fights aren't fun.

I do agree that NK definitely takes much more time to properly learn... But after a while Oceiros is far worse and takes more time, cause he's far "dirtier" with hit boxes and moves. So from a "veteran" standpoint it makes sense to put NK as easier, cause once you learn his moves you won't really lose anymore, whereas with Oceiros you can easily get fooled
@kevingriffith6773 күн бұрын
@@igornaimoli7321 This is why Dancer is also above NK imo. NK's biggest challenge was the weird timings on his attacks, but once you learn them he does the same exact stuff all the time. Even in light of Bayle the Dread, I still believe Midir is Fromsoftware's best dragon. The idea of going face-to-face with a dragon in a series where you typically nip at their ankles was an amazing decision, and while you can do that to an extent with Bayle, I find Bayle does overshoot with a lot of attacks where he ends up on top of you, and his bulky frame makes it easier to take hits on his backside before he can get you out from under him. All hail Midir. His difficulty may be diminished when you know how to fight him, but he's still a master class of how to do a large sized boss.

DS3 is probably the weirdest of the Souls games to revisit. Knowing about skips like the tree jump and the two Cathedral shortcuts, almost all the friction the game has to offer is pared down to a minimum. Everyone just blitzes Vordt, jumps off the cliff for Yoel’s free levels, etc. On the bright side, No Storm Yhorm is a great time, and essentially reclaims a gimmick boss into a genuine fight.

You realize there are strategies like this in every DS game? Every single game has shortcuts and tricks to get things faster/easier. That's the purpose of a speedrun. Also, nobody is forcing you to use the Tree Jump or any other shortcut, that's up to how you play the game.

Hot take: I think Demon Princes are actually harder than the Friede and Father gank in the 2nd phase. For one thing, Father is not as big as the Demon Princes to the point where it gets hard to read his moves. Just don't get too greedy and watch for the occasional ice floor attack from Friede and use the healing window to wallop on the Father more. For Demon Princes, you will likely spend half the time being under one of them, which makes you susceptible to counterattack from the other one. Or heck, they will just both go so aggro on you that you won't have room to breathe, let alone attack! And just like 3rd phase of Friede, you aren't out of the woods in that 2nd phase of Demon Prince! You still gotta dodge everything from big sweeps, slams, charges, and projectiles. And with a pretty girthy health pool, Demon Prince is an endurance fight akin to Midir and Nameless King. Good luck finding a consistent way back through that 1st phase when you make costly mistakes that end your run. 😟

I’m gonna disagree with you on the part about level design buddy. Admittedly the drab color palette may play some part in it but these levels are a total drag to get through. They’re just…not fun. I think, with the exception of Farron Keep and MAYBE the Painted World of Ariandel, they’re too linear. This may be a bit of a hot take but I honestly prefer Blighttown from DS1 to most of these levels. My biggest issue with that area is just how much distance there is between the Depths Bonfire and the first Blighttown Bonfire. Once you get past that, the area’s not so bad. The toxic dart guys are annoying but the rest of the area is interestingly designed and both the lighting and color palette make it look very unique. DS3’s areas are just boring.

Currently sitting in the ads before the video. My guess for easiest is Crystal Sage, Iudex Gundyr, Wolnir, Old Demon King or Ancient Wyvern. (The list is a personal thing, don't bash me.) Deacons as #25 makes sense. 24: Wolnir at #24. I like it. 23: Ancient Wyvern! Guessed it. I heavy fw this tier list so far. 22: I should've guessed Yhorm. But, even with Storm Ruler, he's killed me once or twice when I got careless. 🙌 21: Even he said it. 😭 20: Tbh, Idk. I struggled with CRG. 19: I haven't died to Vordt since my first playthrough, so... But yeah, he's difficult for newer players. 18: Iudex...? Fair. 17: Haven't fought the Gravetender, so. 16: Abyss Watchers ran my shit on my first playthrough. 100% agree, they're difficult. 15: This one.. I don't agree with. Twin Princes was easily one of the hardest fights for me. But it's fair. 14: Get this goofy ahh NPC boss outta here. Fuck Halflight. 💀 13: How is Crystal Sage *here* ? I've never seen anyone struggle with her. 12: Pontiff is proper difficult. This placement makes sense. 11: Champ gave me a run for my money on my initial playthrough. I like this placement. 10: Aldrich is super easy if he doesn't spam the arrows. 9: I rarely have trouble with DSA anymore. But his combos did mess me up a few times. 8: I never really struggled with NK.. But his combos are quite shit to deal with when he delays them. 7: Oceiros is only here because he's bullshit. The Schizophrenic Dragon is cool though. 6: Of all the bosses I've faced, Dancer ranks among the hardest for me. She's so difficult to anticipate. 5: SoC.... A perfect end to a perfect trilogy of games. I respect this placement. O7 4: Haven't fought the Demon Princes, so. Can't argue really. 3: Haven't fought Gael. 2: Haven't fought Friede... 1: I haven't fougth Midir. I don't have the DLCs yet. Getting them real soon.

Fight him at level 1...🙄 Soul of Cinder is easily the hardest boss in the base game. It's not even close tbh. Actually even with the DLC only Friede beats him.
@darren53653 күн бұрын
Phase 1 has easily the most complex moveset out of DS3 bosses. On a normal run, he just doesn't have enough HP or do enough damage to be a threat. He's a lot worse on challenge runs like sl1 where you're forced to be consistent and can't hit trade

I agree with you on Midir. Seeing this list really brings back memories. As much as I would like to revisit Bloodborne, it becomes more and more difficult every year as it feels more and more outdated. If only Sony would give us a remaster.

I'm not sure how many are aware of this, but Iudex Gundyr's jump slam attack can be parried in the first phase. I was a little bewildered when I saw it, but adding another attack that can be parried really speeds up the fight, I think.

In the base game, I've died much more to Nameless than I have Soul. Soul just felt like a Hunter fight from Bloodborne to me and I had gotten so used to those that Nameless was the first major challenge when I started DS3, followed by Aldrich when I tried to play a mage

So, correct me if I’m wrong, he’s basing this list off of a run where he used a weapon that’s overleveled for half of the bosses he fought instead of their actual movesets and difficulty

i like to think i have a good bit if experience in the high level of difficulty in ds3 bc ive done an sl1 run and im on ng+26 which means ive done 19 runs at max difficulty and my list would be way different than this but dmod definitely has even more experience than i do so what do i know i just feel like the logic is kinda weird like old demon king got a low ranking because you can outlevel him and beat his ass and crystal sage got a high ranking because it can be hard if youre underprepared which is inconsistent ranking logic and yea old demon king is not hard but id definitely say he is more challenging than crystal sage with a good, balanced build, especially for new players my buddies died way more to odk when i made them play. just an example like one was low because its easy if you outlevel it and the other was high because its hard if you underlevel it like yea man

Actually you can evade the lightning strike from the Namless King. If you don't look at him while he is charging up, the lightning doesn't hit you.

I just started playing this game again after like 3 years. I just finished ringed city for the first time. I beat the twin princes my first time after only 1 day of playing on my old character. After several days I noticed I hadn't beaten the NK on that character yet. I've tried 5 times now.... Oh I also beat Gael my 2nd time, but still can't beat NK. I got Midir down to 25% health my 2nd try then he beat me the next 4 times. Boss difficulty and how it affects everyone differently is crazy. Several years ago I gave up on Freide. I probably tried it over 15 times. Then day one of getting back into it I beat her.

I am sorry but this list is worthless. You use a weapon for bosses that you would never be able to do in a normal run. Doing less damage over time makes some bosses much more threatening, whats the point of getting an op weapon early, overpower the easy beginning bosses and then just say "that was easy"? Of course it was, you have a strong weapon. How about using weapons fitting to the progress a player would actually encounter these bosses? Waste of time to watch this video

Always cool to get a different perspective as someone who has played these games a lot and over a long period of time (so your skill and play style evolved). I think for me Nameless King will remain king of hard for DS3. He always takes me the longest to kill. I played Elden Ring as my 1st Souls game but I guess I never learn delays properly lol. But DS3 stood out to me playing these games, I just love the bosses and think that as a whole DS3 has the best boss line up. From the dancer on is just banger after banger. (tho I have not played Sekiro or Bloodbourne).

Lothric and Lorian isn't hard to pull off until you reach NG+3 and have to deal with both princes at the same time, while they do enough damage to kill pretty much any build in 1 to 2 hits. This is one of those fights that is much more balanced for upwards of NG+
@ChummyBoy3 күн бұрын
Having Nameless King, Pontiff, and Twin Princes below Dancer is just objectively wrong, half the community literally fights Dancer early at like level 15 because it’s not hard at all at proper level.

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I've never found the dragonslayer Armour to be remotely difficult. Sure, he got me a few times on my first playthrough, but I don't think I've died to him since. It's a very fair fight with plenty of opportunity to counter. Heck, I consistently have more trouble with the Abyss watchers

Bloodborne Top 5 prediction: 1-Orphan 2-Lawrence 3-Ludwig 4-Maria 5-Gehrman Almost 15 years later, Bloodborne’s DLC is still an S tier DLC in terms of boss quality AND difficulty. It’s also better than SotE… I said what I said.

I will say first playthrough Midir was the hardest fight in the game. Upon NG+ it's always Friede.
@Aaron-sx7zfКүн бұрын
Friede was harder imo. Midir was just about outlasting him bc of his huge health bar while Friede could fuck you up st any moment if you made a slight must on phase 3

Didn't you say the innovation Souls was providing had stagnated a few years ago? And that it was high time you moved on to other things? I understand loving the Souls games and wanting to come back to them as a content form now and again, but you mostly had negative things to say about their approach to Elden Ring. Are lists like this not a slight sign of stagnation of ideas from you?

Damn, the end tho... I feel pretty much the same way after replaying the trilogy, now replaying Elden Ring (no PS so no Demon's or Bloodborne, and Sekiro is another beast entirely as much as I love it) Dark Souls 1 still has top tier atmosphere and makes you feel so small and powerless in a hostile world. It's wonderfully depressing, and while the bosses are now slow and sluggish after playing Elden Ring so much, they still hold up. Dark Souls 2 has many flaws, MANY, but it's kind of "the whole is more than the sum of its parts", somehow, despite the flaws, it has its charm and the overall experience is enjoyable and memorable, even if only a handful of bosses (Sir Alonne, Fume Knight, Ivory King, Blue Smelty, Sinh, Velstadt, Lost Sinner and Mirror Knight) are actually great and most of the areas are no better than mediocre, but yeah, it's remarkable how despite having not so great ingredients it manages to be a pretty good experience. Meanwhile Dark Souls 3 has great ingredients (the best gameplay and bosses of the trilogy) but in this case the whole is less than the sum of the parts. It's indeed painfully linear, and you might as well just ignore the areas because the bosses are why you're playing anyways. A shame, I think only Irithyll, Ringed City, Lothric Castle + Grand Archives, Cathedral of the Deep and to a lesser extent Ariandel could compete with the best areas of Dark Souls 1. Elden Ring is my favorite still, alongside Dark Souls 1.

I’ve been replaying dark souls 3 (and going past where I left off in the ringed city). I’m fighting the bosses on my own and I’ve generally been enjoying it a lot more than my first time playing the game with my claymore. For some reason, my claymore never seemed like it did good damage while my weapons and spells do pretty good damage in this run. I beat Friede a few days ago and it was definitely the hardest fight so far, but by the time I beat her, I ended up enjoying the fight.

I had a hard time with the game when I first played it, and I was using a some kind of straight sword or claymore. I later played the game through after playing ER through with a friend wielding dual Giant Crushers, I decided to just stick with heavy hammers, and steamrolled the game with Vordt's Great Hammer, most deaths against the bosses I had were against Midir, and that was 2, so I won on third time. Nameless King was 2nd try, almost everything else was 1st try and none of it was even close.
