I love how most of the Majora's Mask dungeons are difficult, and then you add in the fact that you're on a time limit in all of them, unlike the other dungeons. It's an extra dose of difficulty, as you have to do the entire dungeon, then do anything the dungeon unlocks after completion before a new cycle, else you have to go back and fight the boss again

I found the Lanayru Mining Facility to be the most difficult in Skyward Sword. Maybe it's because I was playing with joycon drift but it was hard to do the platform puzzles and deal with the Beamos enemies, without a bow (if you miss the thrusing motion, it gets bad). Pretty big dungeon and easy to fall in some of the rooms and have to go through certain motions again.

I think one of the reasons Majoras Mask is so loved is not just the more mature themes/tone, but the more grown up difficulty. Even Woodfall has moments that can stump a first timer and pose problems (firing the arrow through the fire on the spinning flower anyone?) Snowhead demands careful control and tricky platforming. Great Bay involves complex problem solving and navigation. Stone Tower puts it all together and provides a great but fair level of challenge for a last dungeon.

If you don't want to read the whole thing now plz pin. When i reached bottom of the well on my first playthrough, it took me about five or ten minutes to figure out what i needed to do. I will admit i struggled in jabu jabu my first and second time playing. Sky keep still makes no sense to this day (probably cause i don't play ss as much as most of the others that i own). The great bay temple is MUCH EASIER than the water temple for me, sometimes it takes me longer than water depending on if I'm getting the stray fairies or not. My most recent playthrough of lakebed temple, i didn't want to do and didn't really have time at that moment in time to do the second half, so i learned boss key skip for that one. The last mm one was actually not to bad for me, even while getting the stray fairies. My first in shadow was overall fine, but back then, something just didn't sit right with me whenever i would enter it (same with the well). The only plus on the 3Ds version of snow head was motion controls for me, it took a while but i got it after i finally opened the stupid chest i wasn't planning on opening cause i thought it was a fairy one and i just wanted to focus on getting to the boss, in short i was rushing and being stubborn. VA ruta is the water divine beast. The desert divine beast took a long time (mostly trying to wrap my head around Thunderblight Ganons speed but now he's a piece of cake).

For some reason, I always had trouble with Forest Haven from Wind Waker as a kid. There was this one part where you have to carry a seed on a moving platform while avoiding Peahats chasing after you. I would always end up getting hit by the Peahat and the seed would fall off the platform causing me to have to start the cycle over. Also, the Eagle Tower from Link’s Awakening was very difficult for me. Everything was going fine in the start, but I had no clue that i had to throw the big metal ball at the pillars to make the top floor fall.

I dont think Snowpeak ruins is easy, I have beaten it too many times to judge wether or not the puzzles are easy but the ice monsters are more challenging than TP average monsters, and since there are no hearts in pots, your life meter tends to go down without you paying attention while being tricked by the seemingly peaceful atmosphere kupo
@n.e.257011 ай бұрын
THIS! I had to get down so many times to re-stock on soup because slipping all over the place and getting frozen every few seconds while trying to fight the ice monsters was a nightmare the first time around xD Which REALLY didn't help with my terrible sense of direction, so I kept getting lost on the way back to where I was lol. The puzzles are pretty straightforward tho, the only thing that really stumped me was figuring out you had to use the ball and chain on the chandeliers to create moving platforms.
@Katie-hb8iq2 жыл бұрын
There is some tricky things to the Tower of the Gods dungeon in the Wind Waker. For one, I didn't know what to do with the wind symbol on the ground - took me forever to realize what to do there. I was throwing the boomerang, messing with the Deku leaf and all sorts of things. The game uses this wind symbol later on in multiple places, but this is the first time the game throws this at you. There was some other tricky things in this dungeon, like not realizing I could jump while I am lifting those command statues. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I tried throwing it over the pit and failing like 5 times before I realized I could carry them. I just assumed it would weigh me down and cause me to fall. Stupid me I guess.

The only placement on this list I hard disagree with is the Palace of Twilight, I would definitely put it in easy. The dungeon is extremely linear; there is only one way you can go at the start, which is the left side. Then the right side opens up after you get the first ball of light, so then that becomes the only way you can go since the middle section is blocked until the master sword gets powered up. The puzzles are basically non existent, they are pretty much all just placing the light ball on a switch to make platforms appear, or doing a spin attack to hit switches. All of the small keys you get just from beating the big Zant head enemies so no real thinking there either. Also the big hands that chase the ball of light; while they are intimidating, they move incredibly slow and can be stunned for a long time by hitting them with your clawshot (probably other items too that's just what I used).Even if they manage to grab the ball of light you can just snatch it right back out of their hand with the clawshot. This placement really stood out to me because I just beat Twilight Princess again a couple days ago so it's fresh in my mind.

BotW Hyrule Castle is by far the hardest of these dungeons if you don't skip it. And even then, trying to skip the bulk of it when you've never been there, something you tried to envision for the water temples, means it's extra hard because it's so multi layered. The enemies are the hardest in the series too (for 3d games anyway) and saying you could just skip it makes it easy is like saying the Devine beasts are so easy you don't even have to do them at all. lol Nah, if you try to do even half of the hyrule castle or don't just try to run away, it's easily the hardest in the franchise at least for 3d games.

The ones that gave me trouble on my first play through were Earth Temple from WW (first LoZ game I played and found some of the mirror puzzles hard), Stone Tower temple (didn’t occur to me that I would have to go outside of the temple to finish the 2nd half) and Ganons Castle in OoT (this was mainly because I went the whole without fire arrows and were required to complete it). I’m surprised the Water Temple didn’t give me that much trouble aside from the shadow link battle, that alone would have made me put it in the difficult tier

I would say so far the only 3D Zelda dungeons that I truly found hard is Great Bay and Stone Tower. Great Bay I think is a lot easier to get lost in because of the currents and Stone Tower gets you turned around with flipping the table and of course challenging with how you have to use all forms of Link and the switch puzzles then tact on the time limit for both of them, even if I start Great Bay on the first day there’s time I’m barely able to beat the dungeon until the final hours of the 3rd day. For me idk what it is but I found the Water Temple fairly easy as well as the Lake Bed Temple. Raising and lowering the water and rotating the flow of water never really confused me but I can see how people can find them really hard

OoT's Fire Temple is indeed the easiest adult dungeon but somehow I always get confused. I tend to miss a goron or forget how to properly fight the mini bosses, don't find the way to the hammer or something else. For me personally it is medium to hard but I don't really know why exactly. And this is considering I cleared it numerous times before! But it is for sure harder than any of BotW's divine beasts! I totally agree about OoT's Jabu Jabu. It is definitely a huge difficulty spike after Tree and Cavern! And no. No dungeon in Wind Waker should be graded higher than Not Too Bad. The difficulty of the whole game is just not that hard... And I don't think the moon in MM qualifies as a dungeon. Kafei's quest thief's hideout isn't a dungeon either. It is just not enough stuff to qualify as a proper dungeon!

Not sure if you end up correcting yourself later in the video, but the first dungeon in the windwaker is actually the forsaken fortress, not dragon roost cavern. edit: so apparently it's not even in the tierlist. I guess some might not consider it a dungeon since the format is so different? Still think it should've been taken into consideration when ranking dragon roost, since the argument was that it's not ranked in the easy tier due to being the first dungeon. At least for me personally, dragon roost cavern felt like a cakewalk after completing forsaken fortress when I was a kid and first played the game.

Vah Naboris is extremely difficult for me. I still dont know how to beat it without cheating (using Revalis Gale).
@imaguyandabeautifulbutterfly2 жыл бұрын
Wait what? I never used Revalis Gale in it, I just used a walk through because I can never figure it out. Strange because even great bay and water temple I can do pretty easily.

@@imaguyandabeautifulbutterfly Well, see? If you can’t figure it out by yourself and have to use a walkthrough you agree with me its a difficult titan. I dont use a walkthrough so I have to think outside the box and use other ways.

@@gerudoqueenriju wow, just wanted to say its difficult for me, and I never thought of THAT way of doing it, because my attempts of thinking outside the box failed, didn't mean to offend you

Water temple is only hard the first time through. Wouldn’t call it very difficult. Compared to places like great bay or lakebed it’s not as bad
@abstractdaddy1384 Жыл бұрын
Lakebed is super easy. Maybe I just got lucky the two times I went through it, but I found it to be incredibly linear. Go here, do a thing. Go to the next room available, do a thing. Repeat, repeat, done. I don't see how the water temple gets that much easier if you've already gone through it once. The tricky part about that dungeon is you have to very methodical otherwise you risk wasting a lot of time missing things that you didn't get or do when the water level was at a certain point. Additionally you have to remember where the water level plaques are and how to get to them (n64 version). I just don't understand how going through it once gives a player knowledge that can make the challenge of the dungeon easier next time. It's just not that kind of dungeon.

@@abstractdaddy1384 I would say the water temple is easier than most people give it credit for only because with the wind spell you can teleport in the dungeon to the water switches and as long as you finish EVERYTHING you can on that level before switching the level you only have to change the water 4 times. Definitely as a kid a very difficult level but when I played the 3DS version after not paying the game in a few years I was able to do water in around 30 minutes and they hadn’t changed the dungeon except for ooohh prettier walls lol very difficult but as a replay dungeon I get caught up more by the forest temple than water in OOT

I can not, for the life of me, complete water temple in OOT without a guide

My two best tips. It's best to always drain the water all the way down, and explore each room as you move the water back up. Then just remember the two most annoying small keys. The one after raising the water to mid level that's under the platform in the central tower. And the one you have to bomb the wall with the water at mid level.
