Captains and Vice Captains are incredibly important. This shows you guys know very little about what goes on beyond the pitch. And even on the pitch there is a massive difference if you have leaders in your team. Liverpool allways played better with Henderson even though he wasn't world class himself. Captains are important right hand man of the manager and the club. They dont have to be world class to do that jobb well. If you also look at matches with Hendo in them, he is so vocal and guiding the team. If you look at his goodbye vid, you can see what an effect a good captain has on his team.

They've done a dirty on captains. Captains are incredibly important. The best captains generally are always a CB or a midfielder, why? Usually because they have to be the most professional and hardworking players on and off the pitch. They are reflective of mentality, that is more important than ability in many ways. Any successful team has had this. Whether its Jordan Henderson, John Terry, Steven Gerrard, pick any. This is also the reason that Harry Maguire and Harry Kane are NOT good captains. Harry Kane is lazy and Maguire is sloppy. On a side note, of course there are others that can hold the armband. There is usually a core of people that set the expectations for performance on and off the pitch (A la James Milner, Van Dijk etc.)
