Before Steve Nash, the Suns were like a race car with no driver, and he filled that role perfectly. Sure, the "car" might be powered by the talents of people like Shawn Marion & Amare Stoudemire, but it goes nowhere without the "driver." Where others spun out, Nash excelled. That's why he was the MVP. He made the system work.

Shaq was almost 30 years old at the close of the 2000 season. Big men rarely remain dominant passed 32 years old. All this talk of Shaq could of dominated for years after is laughable. He still played well all the way through 2007, just wasn't dominant like the Shaq we once knew.

Absolutely factual, great and on point comment (not going to lie, considering that Dom Is a huge Kobe fan, unlike for Lebron, Shaq or whoever, I thought there was the chance for that ruining, just like Duncan got ruined in his best 2000s player spot in Dom's video, but Dom isn't like that), plus because you then put the rightful honoring too anyway. The thing with Nash is that he won it right as he joined the suns. He turned a 29-53 team into a 62-20 team. I feel like it’s very under appreciated. Even though he didn’t have the best stats he definatly had one of if not the biggest impact on his team.

Steve Nash was the system and the reason why Phoenix Suns were a Championship contender. He single-handedly transformed them from a 29 win team to a 60+ win team after joining them. Steve Nash easily deserved both MVPs.

J Kidd was 2nd in MVP voting in 2002 with 14.7 PPG and it was a close one. 2. 2005 Lakers didn't even make the playoffs. 3. 45 wins (2006) are not enough. Lebron & Dirk had a greater MVP case if not Nash. Deserved or not, he had a MVP valid case for both of them.

Nash lost 3 scorers (injured Amare, Iso Joe to Hawks and Quentin to NY) , made Diaw and Barbosa relevant and Bell had best season in his career. That's overachieving. Cast who stepped up is more correct than had more help. Valid MVP case. And like I said if not Nash, it was either Lebron or Dirk before Kobe.

i respect ur opinion, but that year was the year bron really asserted his dominance to the league, he had everything going for him that year, passing, scoring, defense and team wins were all on point. plus, with all due respect to the LEGEND kobe, i remembered that in 09' jerry west himself said that bron has surpassed kobe as an individual. Or with the superstar method it’s worth acknowledging that going from not in the playoffs to being good but a non contender is not more significant than good non contender to true contender. It’s much harder to turn 60 wins into 70 than it is to turn 30 wins into 40.

If you listen and watch very carefully and if you watch NBa during these early years it is true that MOST NBA TEAMS ONLY HAVE 1 STAR... and yet some of which can make NBa finals not like in todays era where you have 2-3 stars per team while some teams dont even have a star player.
