Especially as in s4 Em never mentioned him (or in s7 with the admirer thing) and Bangers and Mashups essentially being like 'let's solidify this trio again'. stop this was so nostalgic for me, it took me straight back to lockdown days in the spring with the sirens, and watching these whilst being off school, and now I'm in uni, time has actually flown by omg 😭 i really appreciate your reasonings especially the deserved better section because characters like miss Angela who literally fell victim to terrible writing was so annoying for us fans, because we had zero update on her or other characters that were in similar positions which just showed a lack of continuity imo and just laziness from the writers. I would personally put hunter in okay or great, because him and Emily's relationship was problematic of course 😭, but i really wanted them to get back together after Amanda got exposed. but also he was part of like the bros and the boys national small group was so iconic too. but then again after he left in season 3, we didn't hear about him, but it would have been good to see him in the bangers & mash ups competition in season 4. i think margie is immediately iconic for her glittery exit, which literally was a cultural reset let's be honest 🤭 oh and let's not forget uncle Arthur and aunt Cathy 😭😭 I'm here for Winnie to actually own the show in season 9, because again why was there no explanation for her exit after she was cut, and then she just randomly appeared during a troupes goodbye episode in 8A 😭, like that was just random, so yes a whole storyline for her too is needed. alishea's comeback is giving what Winnie so desperately needs let's be reall, so I'm manifesting this 😭🤞🏼

I loved max because he’s a lot like me. Hes more closed off and finds enjoyment in his own company rather than the company of others. Characters like that aren’t shown much on shows like this that are all about bringing the drama. I also just think he was funny at times without trying too hard to be. I know this ranking isn’t based on dancing but overall even with his small role on the show, his dancing alone stood out so much. His routine with Richelle is one of the most memorable ones on the show.

Great video! The season 5 newbies (Lola, Josh, Zara etc) deserved a second season their characters deserved so much more when other characters who were boring were on the team for multiple seasons My favourite characters are Michelle, Daniel, Stephanie. Out of the new troupe I loved Lola and Josh and from the current troupe I really like Heath, Ebby, and Xander!

I think the only one I disagree with is Chloe… I think she should be in great because she was one of the only characters who got a real professional job that was her dream ( the first one ), her plot in season 1 really showed the audience that it’s always best to be kind and help eachother out. her exit in season 3 I think really touched everyone… probably the most sad exit I’ve seen. When she comes back for guest appearances it really shows her character development and maturity she gained. I also disagree that Riley is below west… Riley had heaps of plots herself and west dosent have one that sticks out for me besides him throwing up before internationals… If west wasn’t in the show, it wouldn’t change anything besides his friendship with James and Eldon… if Riley wasn’t in the show “ this changes everything” ( pun intended) because Jiley wouldn’t exist… the fire piper wouldn’t exist… therefore the whole drama between Riley James and Alfie wouldn’t exist But I love this vid and list! ❤

Edit after watching: honestly, I agree with your justifications. Of course I don't feel the same about the characters, but the way you explained why you ranked them in this row, the reason you gave, where enough for me to agree. You judged the characters by their writing, by what they added to the show, by why you like them or not, and I think that the reasons were valid. So why I wouldn't have done the same (which is normal because it's subjective), I can't find myself to disagree with your ranking.

Personally I wouldn't call Daniel "legend" he's definitely known in the show, but he bothered me with his constant victim mentality. Everything that doesn't go his way he brings down to bring some sort of victim. His ankle injury too... If he didn't hide it and took like a week's rest it would've healed up, the only reason it got so bad is because he was so focused on himself. The closer they got to regionals and the worse his ankle got the more it screwed over the team. He cared more about himself than the good of the team, he didn't even look for the good for himself either he almost caused himself an injury that could prevent him from continuing his dance career. He caused problems for his team and himself when a week or twos rest probably would've had him healed before the injury got worse. His ego really got in the way too in I think season 2 when they were choosing the soloists, duets, etc for nationals. He believed so bad that he was better when the simple thing is for the solo, Eldon was one of the best dancers in the studio at the time. Daniel only cared that he wanted these parts when the people who actually got the solo, duet, small group wanted it as well and they worked hard for it too. He only cared about himself and his ego whereas others are also focused on the good of the team (like Giselle and Thalia with the James/Riley duet situation knowing it was James and Riley who could win with THEIR duet). His ego gets in the way and his constant victim mentality in the first seasons annoyed me so bad.

Poor Amy Ok, we all hate Kate because she sucks but Daniel did audition against Eldon and he lose. He ask for a rematch she asked him what would happen if Eldon win again and he said that he would abandon the studio. That's the only thing that wasn't her fault

I would definitely put you in great because you did what you did and you were iconic in the off season, with the way you delivered your lines, and the whole fandom agrees you were iconic, you definitely fuelled the main plot of 8A. But I would say I would've loved if she figured some things out for herself instead having Heath constantly mole for her or she could be at the studio and fish to Maria that Nationals is a main focus for the studio that could be how she got the idea of forming Ultra Elite. I think she could've figured some things out for herself, that'swhat stopping her from being in legends. ❤❤

Where would you rank Zara if she was on this list in your opinion. I prefer Jones over Elliot since Jones was more nice to Richelle than Elliot. Season 8 was the first time Ozzy didn't get involved with a Dance Battle every 30 seconds he gets an argument with someone to solve the problem, Ozzy was only in the Dance Battle for Season 8 against Izzy for a spot on the National Teams after The Challenge was changed in Episode 4. How would you rate Cassidy? I enjoy Cassidy as a character, I would put her as great since she's different from Maria like Cassidy didn't sabotage Richelle, while Maria sabotage Richelle to bring The Next Step down. The entire video, I was like, trying to guess what you were going to say and then either agreeing or yelling cuz I didn't agree LMAOOOO 🤣🤣🤣 The fact that you gave Alfie legend status and not Riley, OMG DEAD 😂😂😂 And Piper and Amy and even Henry...my heart bleeds. I know sometimes they didn't have great storylines, but Gen 2 would not be Gen 2 without Piper and Amy and Henry...AND MAX. Max is actually hilarious, I love how funny he is. I actually thought they didn't write Jacquie as well as they could have, cuz she was written in as Noah's love interest and that was that. The same with Alfie and Beth. Alfie on legends but riley on great is crazy 😭 the only reason why alfie character is even noticeable is because of the riley plot line and it’s not even based on him but based on who riley loves more which is why i dont even feel like he is great because he’s so dependent on that story line other than riley he doesn’t have much to offer for himself as a character the only thing we know i guess is that he’s a prince or whatever😭
