Funcom nerfed many of the pets into the ground a while back. The only one I am using currently is the Frost Giant Bodyguard. It's decent in purge defense, since it has a very wide swath of attack, and can knock down human opponents.

They get great armor too. If your frost giant ever dies, try a Greater Rocknose!

The Colossal Serpent Alpha is a BEAST. It hits hard, strikes multiple enemies at once, and applies poison that stacks.

Try leveling up the greater Tcho Tcho. You get them at the pools on Siptah. Surprise surprise they are killers using sorcery. It would be a good vid. Cheers mate.

What about the DLC slash Battle Pass snake skin for this Cobra? What do you think of it? It turns it into a constrictor and gives it an enormous range

Yoo, time to talk pets! They cannot be healed with bandages or potions (lacking the animation), but the Grey Lotus potion works great! Greater Sabretooth cannot be stunned. They have the highest base damage of all the pets. Get babies from Jhebbal Sag dungeon. Let's go!!! Greater Komodo gets lots of armor, lots of HP, a poisonous bite, immunity to poison, is low enough walk over and shoot arrows over, but CAN be stunned. 100% spawn at K-6 exiled lands. Greater Rocknose can get 1684 armor and 9486 HP, without the follower buff. They have an AOE tripping attack, are immune to all debuffs, immune to stun, and their healing food does not spoil and comes in big stacks. Buy the babies at E-8. Best tank but hard to get double growth on VIT. Double Vitality growth??? YES! Pets still use the old leveling system: if the food-MODIFIED growth is 100% or higher, the pet will always get +2 in that stat. If the pet has a natural 100% growth then they get the normal 1 point for sure, and then a 40% chance to get a second point. Keep any of the recommended pets with 86% or higher growth rate, then feed them to MODIFY their growth to 100% or higher for double growth. Pets gain more benefit from stats than thralls do, so these bonus points can almost make pets useful! Note that most pets do not have food that boosts Grit (some DLC pets do). Remember to feed them after every level. Each type of pet (and race of thrall) gets a fixed amount of growth % that is randomly split between their four stats. Most pets have their AGL and GRT stat growth capped, making it easier to get high growth in STR or VIT. The minimum growth is 40%. For anyone with those old skeleton pets: 'Down But Not Out' does not work on them.

@@Avance-cg7sc Indeed! They had small footprint, immune to all debuffs, had lots of armor, ate a variety of meats/minerals, and were crafted in the firebowl cauldron. They had several cool looks: basic skeleton, skeleton king, skeleton soldier, glowing wight, zombie hyena, skeleton monstrosity, and a skeleton with only 1 HP that exploded into a gas cloud when attacked! Funcom removed these pets from the game when sorcery was released, but you can still spawn them in with Admin mode. I'm certain some people on official servers still have these legacy pets.

I've tested pets against my thralls, and sadly, its not even remotely close. I had optimally leveled feral dogs Thor and Brutus, they were doing 15-20% of the damage a thrall can do. Admittedly, I can equipment my thralls with end game gear, but that's the big divide, you can't equip pets with anything so their armor and damage modifiers are crap. Also, you can't feed them elixirs, so that's another penalty on top of not being able to heal them up. The only way pets become even decent is if you have a mod, and there too they fall behind because of the fundamentals in their coding. I wish it were otherwise, but pets are seriously gimped in performance.
