i think most of the shows did have some really good episodes, but unfortunately we have to sit through a lot of subpar filler or poorly written episodes. Great show! the discord link said it’s expired

Couldnt disagree more on Only and Lunga's takes on Rebels. Clone Wars was also childish when it came out and Dave purposely writes his shows to start off more childish because he understands a new generation is going to watch it and start their journey. As the shows progress they get darker in themes as the audience grows up with them. You cant tell me Ahsoka when first introduced wasnt also childish giving everyone cringe nicknames and *checks notes* acts like a 12 yr old. Also Lunga didn't read the new Thrawn novels because I feel they surpass the OG heir to the empire series in some spots and are bringing in other elements as time goes on. Rebels shows us that Thrawn can only be beaten by the incompetence of his subordinates. Im all with Palpamemes that Rebels is better than Clone Wars as it's more consistent with its highs where CW has more consistent lows.

(Lunga) Don't feel like changing profiles. Good sir, if you've watched us before you'd know I have read EVERY Thrawn novel. In fact Heir I haven't read in in well over 15 years. Thrawn Ascendency and Star Wars Thrawn series I have read every book and that was in the past 2 years. I like them better than the OG series as well. However Rebels did NOT in fact use him as he was in those books. He retained a few small traits but they regressed him to a typical Empire villain when he is far from that. Thank you for your input, however you are wildly incorrect on many fronts.

@chatooineshow fair enough lol. And no, I'm a newer watcher so I don't know everything you've consumed, and thats on me for making assumptions. But I still feel like your assertion of Thrawn being relegated to a "typical empire villian" is a wild take that most people would not share. Other than that I thought you made great points for some of the other shows, it was just the Rebels ones that I felt like I had to say something lol. Thanks for taking the time to respond as well, appreciate it and look forward to future discussions!

@@Dauth312 Thank you for sticking around and watching we do appreciate it. I will say, perhaps people you know wouldn't agree with that, but both Only and I and other people I know who have read the books and seen Rebels happen to agree he was made a typical Empire villain and removed a LOT of the nuance to his charcter from the books such as Thrawn's constant trait to always find a non lethal method to victory. In Rebels he literally wants to wipe out the Rebels. He has never had this kind of tactic in the novels, only kills as a last resort. The fact he is only with the Empire to further aid the Chiss against the Grisk. The fact that while, yes he remains loyal to the Empire, he will always retain his Chiss loyalty and is using the Empire to further those goals. Ignoring that and the many other differences is doing a disservice to a wonderfully written charater and a very unique one to the Star Wars Imperial time period.
