Scotsman was indeed a true friend to Jack, but we also mustn’t forget how much Jack was a friend to Scotsman as well. They forged a bond through battle, but the reason Scotsman was so selfless towards Jack is because of the kindness he showed him when he helped save his wife. Scotsman asked how he could repay Jack and Jack told him that friends carry no debts. That touched Scotsman and their friendship was set in stone that day, he spent the rest of his life looking out for Jack and never once told him that he owed him one because he took Jack’s words to heart. That’s what I call a true friendship.

Jack is also a thinker, he had many days to ponder his path and world that surrounded him. Scotsman gave him a lesson that true power may come in shapes and patterns that he never would have considered to be worthy of holding it and it really humbled him. If Scotsman is how he is and in such cruel reality his doing perfectly fine, then perhaps Jack had something to learn out of this behaviour and he tried to embrace this inner whimsical child that Scot got out of him - something that was stuck deep inside for way too long.

he is allways moraly superior to everyone around him. He literally dedicated his life to fight evil, so barely anyone can trully understand him, neither he could really understand them, because his life of hardship is devoided of doubt or self-indulgence. The scotman is a completely new expirence to him, he literally found his equal. Even if the manners are polar opposites, his values are one and the same. He can banter to hell and back with him, because they can relate on every level. I suspect the scotman was the second "Chosen One", who overlapped with Jack because of the time travel.

The Scotsman was one hell of a true friend to Jack. Despite their rocky meeting at first, they had no issue respecting one another after seeing each other fight. On top of that, he was completely open to Jack about needing his help to save his wife and openly cried and hugged Jack. Most men today wouldn’t do that if placed in the same situation. But above all else, the Scotsman looked out for Jack as if they were brothers when he lost his memory. He didn’t care what he was doing before, he went out of his way to help Jack and used his own expenses to help get them where they needed to go. Not once did he ever tell Jack how much he owed him. But what I loved the most about that last episode was that whenever the Scotsman would unintentionally place Jack in danger, IE punched by a Viking and brought into a bar full of criminals who were hunting down Jack, I admired how the Scotsman immediately switched to protect Jack and taking responsibility. That’s a true friend.

This happens in the military. My coworker go into it with a huge black guy in the military. They made each other bleed. When the drill sergeant saw my buddy (white dude) with a gash in his bald head the black guy gave him, he said he gashed it somewhere else. When they finished basic training he told him what I figured he would (the black dude): _Ryan, we may not have met on good terms but you're one tough mf, I'd go into battle with you any day_ they shook hands and had pics together on graduation day. It's just the comradery battle can bring out in men especially if you share the same enemy, you learn to put your differences aside and fight for a common cause. It's the trap your average person fails into from a failed government; they want us divided fighting amongst ourselves left vs right, prolife vs prochoice vax vs not mask vs not... and they use the media to do it.

Friendly reminder: Jack was trained by Shaolin monks in martial arts that were (presumably) ancient by the time he was learning them. He got physical training from Hell, including but not limited to survival and stick training in the African savannah. He took lessons from every great hero of his era, and has been expanding his skills and strength as he goes on top of it all. He is, in a very real sense, a perfectly groomed Chosen One. And this guy fights him to a standstill. It'd be pretty funny if he got that strong just trying to survive his wife, huh? Also, I can't help but think there needs to be a third sword-wielder from Egypt or thereabouts. There were three deities that imprisoned the darkness of Aku, no? Wodan/Odin, Buddha, and Horus. Jack is obviously Buddha's chosen, the Scotsman may be Odin's chosen when the first one was gone for ten thousand years, so which one did Horus pick?
