Finally someone putting respect on Volpe’s season. 20-20 is insane and he won a gold glove. Sure he was on average a below league average hitter but it was his rookie season. I’m so excited to see what he can do next year

He’s only going to get worse and worse. Last season was probably his best season of his career. Teams will figure him out and he will regress.

This is a good list and I gave it a like, but I expect the Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez to emerge as one of the top starters in the American League this season.

Surprise that Jordan Walker is not on the list. I thought he did a great job playing RF for the first time and at the plate, he is very good.

I'm livid that he isn't I understand he didn't have an insane rookie year but the fact that he's not on here over the guys lower on the list especially elly de la Cruz he was better than him by a wide margin elly is just a flashy player but cardinals players usually get shit on

​@@tylerbenlien6093 not by a wide margin LoL. Elly had 100 less at bats and is projected to be a better player by far. Elly will be a 30-60 player in his prime and could turn in a season similar to Acuna Jr, Jordan Walker isn't doing that

The big reason why Walker didn’t make the list is because of how awful his defense was. He posted negative bWAR as a result of it

I agree, but it's close enough that I'm not mad about it. Corbin's an absolute monster and I think "who's the best outfielder in baseball" is going to end up coming down to Julio and Corbin for the next decade or so.

Surprised Grayson Rodriguez didn't make the list. He had a 2.26 ERA his last 12 starts of the season after getting called back up.

I like G-Rod a lot, but I haven't seen enough from him yet in the majors. I would compare him to Brandon Pfaadt right now. Started out very rough in the majors but has been better lately. Main reason I went with Pfaadt is because he showed success in the postseason

I get what your saying however use some foresight, top prospects with incredible stuff, who was dominate in the second half, your logic doesn’t add up because Perez did the same thing but in reverse . Good first half bad second. No hate on him just pointing out the Grayson miss. Good list otherwise .

@@purrellbarnett8592 Wow. I actually didn't even realize how bad Eury Perez was until I looked up his last 10 starts. A 5.08 ERA and 5.26 FIP is horrendous. Crazy how these young pitchers with insane stuff can still get absolutely destroyed by major league hitters. Seems like GRod made his adjustments and figured it out while the rest of the league adjusted to Eury and figured him out. That's baseball. Gotta constantly make those minor adjustments.

I think Grayson Rodriguez deserved a mention. At first glance his stats don’t look especially impressive but he had a top 3 lowest ERA among starters (Cole and Bradish ahead of him) in the 2nd half. To me that makes him top 25

Definitely could have made the list for sure. I think he'll improve a lot in 2024 and build off of what he did in the 2nd half of this past season

Just to put things into perspective, Mark Reynolds holds the single season strikeout record of 223. Elly’s 162 game average strikeouts was 238

​@@tylerbenlien6093 Walker isn't close to Elly, he will put up 30 hrs and 60 SB possibly this year. Elly put up 15 hrs and 29 SB in half the at bats he would get in a full season. As he gets older his average will go up and his strikeouts will go down

Totally. He already did that in his rookie season. Not sure if I ever see him being a consistent 30+ hitter, but definitely like him to be a 20 home run/20 double guy every year

Bryan Woo is probably better than a few of the pitchers on here, but his surface level stats didn't stand out. People will be surprised at what he does going forward if they aren't familiar with him, he's been highly coveted in trades.

Reverse #1and #2 . You are a homer for the DBacks. You made it clear why you place Corbin above JRod. I would wait to see of he can lead the DBacks back to the playoffs this year before placing him above JRod on any list going forward.

​@@mathewbreh3081 but Carroll is a better hitter. Higher average, higher OBP, higher OPS, more stolen bases, all with 100 less at bats than Julio. I know the averages and percentages would go down with more at bats, but his Doubles, triples, HRs, RBIs, SBs would all go up to Julio's numbers, but with more triples and SBs. Plus leading his team to a World Series

He’s only played 40 total games though. Tons of players have won World Series’ at young ages, doesn’t mean any more than players who won them at old ages. I think he’s fantastic though and will be Top 7 or 8 if I redo the list next year

Maybe not right now, but by this time next year, the list will look a lot better. Everyone in the Top 5 will still be younger than 25 years old by the start of next season
