Where’s Kayvon Thibodeaux of the Giants?
@jaxson67962 ай бұрын
Just asking, imma try and be as respectful as I can, but Myles had a much worse d line, the Steelers have a much better one which helps his sack numbers since all but one sack comes from a single block or no blocker while Myles was second in double teamed. I get the he can intercept, but he is a majority edge rusher, I do believe he is more so a rushing line backer. Both are amazing, but I just wanted to get this point across. Did you look at that stat?

@@jaxson6796 they are basically even my argument for tj was his season to season playmaking ability. he is not only the sack king, but FF, Tipped Passes even INTS this guy just gets the ball. i dont thiink the browns DL is significantly worse than steelers. i understand what you mean from a scheme standpoint but i cant really put that against tj cause he is a stand up olb more than a 43 traditional end like myles

@@TheBottomLineView they have always done similar things. Yet no one ever argued that LT was the best DE in the league. There are still differences between the 2 roles and ever since PFF started using the term edge rusher/defender it has become used solely and the actual positions get ignored. It's like people saying the base is a nickle, that's not a thing base is the foundation that the nickle I run from . A team can play 100% of the snaps out of a nickle and it doesn't change the fact that the base is a 3-4 or a 4-3 . Back to the original point you titled the video edge rushers so cool you can include 3-4 olbs like Watt with DEs like D.Law but that doesn't change the fact that I miss the actual separation of the 2 positions
@BurntPenguin83712 ай бұрын
While they do different things still, making separate rankings in the modern NFL for DEs and OLBs when they are essentially the same position, just in different schemes is kinda redundant. You could move Watt to a 4-3 scheme and ask him to be play as a true DE and he’d still be great.
@1funkylionsfan9132 ай бұрын

One thing you might not have known, but you didn’t mention was that HUTCH had VERY FEW snaps last yr that he wasn’t double/triple teamed, chipped, helped, etc. (because of lack of pressure anywhere else on the line; enter DJ Reader, see Trey Hendrickson). He also had 3 int’s in the drop and several PBU’s with only RARE rest breaks. He posted those hits, hurries, and sacks with no resistance in the secondary either. Not saying that you have to put him higher, but his numbers are more impressive than what they already seem like when you look behind the curtain.

On a show the other day Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins was asked who the toughest guy he has ever played against and before the questioner even got the last word out he blurted out Trey Hendrickson! He said he is relentless in a way that no one else he has played is. He said that Trey plays every single snap like it’s the Super Bowl. He said he is ridiculously strong and he is fucking huge at 6’4’’ 270 lbs. he also said that for as big and strong he is he is really fast and quick. He said he is the best he has gone against. He didn’t say Myles Garrett or TJ Watt or Max Crosby but in all fairness Max Crosby usually plays over the right tackle.

Oh in Cincinnati we know how good Trey is. We knew how good he was when he had his breakout season with the Saints in 2020. The Bengals let Carl Lawson walk and quickly signed Trey to a 4 year deal. He should have had made ar least 2 All Pro teams by now. In 2021 he should have been second team all pro and last season he should have been a second team all pro. In 2020 he should have been 1st team all pro. He has an All Pro nod from the PFWA. I can’t remember which year though. But we talk about Trey all the time in Cincinnati. We know how special a player he is. And he never misses time. I think he has missed 1 game since arriving in Cincinnati.

Yea I’m glad someone is giving Carl Granderson some love. Very good player. He was undrafted out of Wyoming. So he played with Josh Allen and my boy Logan Wilson out in Wyoming. Cameron Jordan is finished as a pass rusher. He can still play the run but provides nothing in the way of pass rush the last couple of years. Marcus Davenport is gone but I’m glad because I consider him a bust. He was a top 15 pick and was pretty good when he was on the field which wasn’t very often. And we have another potential 1st round bust at edge in New Orleans too named Payton Turner. Payton has been on the team for 3 years and had 3 sacks total. He has been injured more than he has played since arriving in the 1st round out of Houston. He had this year and this year alone to prove he can do something and if not he is history. Sean Payton is not good at drafting edge rushers. He pounded the table for Davenport. The Saints gave up a 1st and a 3rd round pick to move up and take Davenport. Well 2 first round picks really. Anyway he didn’t work out and Turner doesn’t look promising either. And then there is Chase Young who also has this year to show what he can do.

I haven’t watched this yet but if Trey Hendrickson is not top 5 where he should be I’m going to scream! Trey is top 5 or 6 in practicly every pass rushing metric and not just last year but since he became a full time starter in 2020. Since 2020 he is 3rd in total sacks. Seriously it’s TJ Watt Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson. He was second in the league in sacks in 2020 and last year. He was top 5 In pressures last year and 2nd in 2021. He was 1st in turnovers caused by pressure in 2021 and 2022. And he doesn’t just bring pressure and get sacks he gets sacks and forced fumbles when the team needs it most to win. That’s really what sets him apart. But yea top 5 in pressure percentage top 5 in pass rush win rate turnovers caused by pressure sacks total pressures. And he had gotten better and better each year as a run defender. He doesn’t have to be great at that because most teams run behind their Right tackle and Trey always plays over the left tackle. And Sam Hubbard is a great run stopping DE. And Danielle Hunter needs to be in the top 7 or 8 mimimum.
@NathanDean792 ай бұрын
Yes thank you for putting Hendrickson above Aiden Hutchinson. Hendrickson is a little better than 6th though. I think he is better than Max Crosby. Both of Crosbys All Pro nods in 2021 and 2023 yea those should have been Treys. Trey his top 5 in most of the advanced metrics. That’s why I say he is a top 5 edge. And there is literally no catagory where he isn’t top 10.
@NathanDean792 ай бұрын
Trey Hendrickson in my opinion Trey is better than Micha and Maxx. Trey Hendrickson played 740 snaps last year. Maxx Crosby has more pressures than Trey does because HE PLAYED 1080 SNAPS and Trey still had 3 more sacks than him more forced fumbles than him and Treys win % was 21% compared to Crosbys 15.5%. So a lot of these numbers are misleadingbevaue some of them played 1000+ snaps and some played 700 snaps. Also P.R.P Max was 30th and Trey was 3rd. Of course Maxx has more presires he played 350 MORE snaps than Trey did. 700-800 snaps is a normal workload for an edge rusher. Trey wins more than Maxx and gets to the QB more than Maxx. And also Trey only plays over left tackles. He has never taken 1 snap over a right tackle. Why does that matter? Because 98% of the teams in this league have their best offensive tackle playing Left tackle be air for 99.5% of the league that’s the blind side. It’s why Left tackles have traditionally made more money. So Maxx is going against right tackles who aren’t as good playing 1080 snaps and he has 14.5 sacks. Trey played 720 snaps and only played over the left tackle and had 17.5 sacks. And it’s not like you can say well Trey had this other great pass rusher playing on the other side. Like Garrett had Zadarius Smith on the other side of him. No Trwu has Sam Hubbard playing opposite him. He isn’t a great pass rusher. He is an average pass rusher and a great run defender.
