I tell you one thing lads, if you think Download is incredible. Then ypu have to get to Hellfest in France. It makes Download look like a big bag of bollocks. It is the best rock festival in Europe by far. £300 a ticket you can either camp at the festival site or take a motorhome for that price, £6.50 a pint and around £8 for food, festival shirts are about £20, Free live bands at the local supermarket with bars and stalls leading up to the festival starting. It will seriously ruin other festivals for you because you will judge them by how awesome Hellfest is.

Fwiw dance music is about how you play the tracks and your flow. They curate parties. It matters less which songs you play, but rather why and where you play them, which is why nobody seems to care that they hear the same track five times in a day. The familiarity is intrinsic to the scene

Boomtown is superior, went 3 years in a row, 2018, 2019, 2022. 2019 being the best year pre Covid. Full Site Size, Great Production, Gale Force Winds, Main Stage flew off into crowd. Absolute adventure everywhere! Unfortunately now it’s just too much penny but hope to go back soon!

I thought Tomorrowland was expensive. But now my question is instead: Is there any American festival that is not overpriced, over commercialised shite? You pay 500-900USD to camp in GA area, then they want you to pay crazy prices for drinks, and on top of that they want f**king TIPS?! And the worst thing is their stages are shite, they don't even try, just rent 50 LED screens and 50 lasers and they're happy. How can Defqon.1, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, Parookaville, any European festival, make an insane stage, insane lineup, half the drink price without tips, much less hosted stages and still be half the price or less? It's insane.

EDC and ultra have really good stage designs and dont require camping... I'd say when it comes to music EDC is slightly better than tommorowland, it seems like every mainstage artist there just plays happy hardcore kicks and other very run of the mill European EDM. Ultra though clears every single festival lineup wise.

ya'll should give coachella another chance! yeah there's a lot of pretentious people but that's all of california. there's also a ton of real die hard music heads. every artist brings their A-game. the lineups are always on point. Production value is INSANE, and no other festival gets as many surprise guests. sometimes the surprise guests alone are worthy of their own coachella headliner lineup

APE and Wireless are known as day festivals so shouldn't really be in the list for comparison as they are bare bones festivals with no entertainment outside of the main stages. All the other festivals in the list have stuff to do outside of watching bands which makes a big difference when there's nothing you want to watch

Instead they went to kinetic field or CG and got shit faced drunk after like 3 hours. Plus they're just probably too old for EDC, if you have a normal sleep schedule becoming suddenly nocturnal is a bit much of an ask for guys who are 30+ and are pretty out of shape.

I coulda told you EDC sucks bro. It’s so corporate and people there are fake it’s just a bunch of Chads and Brads and little spoiled brats with daddy’s money. They care more about Instagram photos than actually enjoying the music and experience. Plus, it’s in a frickin giant racetrack walking on pavement the whole time. The utter lack of nature might be the worst part. Dont even get me started on the repetitive music there. True homies flock to Hulaween and Electric Forest. IYKYK. That’s where the real party is at. Camping in a legitimate forest, beautiful river and beach to swim at, trippy art installations and a feeling of being transported to a fantasy world. The music is top notch with real bands playing actual music. Plus they got all sorts of electronic, house, dubstep tunes for the late night shenanigans. The variety of music is insane there’s something for everyone. Don’t give up on US festivals bro. You just gotta find the right one. I’m telling you, HULAWEEN is a hidden gem
