mine is the best. i have a 3€ "Powerking" keyboard a 5€mouse which claims it is from logitec but it isnt. a pair of speakers that cost new 50 German Mark in 1987 a screen that i stole from a scrap yard (it is only a small one so they will forgive me) and a computer that i bought from a website that i thought was a scam untill it arrived. it cost me 100€ and it has a blue LED in it somewhere. it can run age of empires 2 on almost 25 FPS how is this a racing setup? i play Moorhuhn Kart 2 XXL on it. so it is a racing setup.

The reason for the shifter being so far away (I think) is so you can feel like your driving a truck thru Texas while hauling a load of guns

That's what I like about the G25 shifter vs the G27 shifter. Being able to switch between H pattern and sequential mode when I want to go back and play some classic arcade racers that didn't support H pattern.

My setup is a custom rig built from scratch by my huge game fan dad, and he started using it way back when I was like 3 years old(He nudged me to try at that time, which leads me to racing games). The whole thing is like a bunch of steel pipes and plates and wooden panels screwed together. The shifter is actually at the exact same place as a real car. Also I actually used this setup to simulate my license tests before I passed them.

My rig setup An Rx7 seat on top of a pallet with custom mounts for ebrake and shifter. The steering wheel mounted onto a chair held down with some weights so it doesn't move. Hey it gets the job done and I get plenty seat time.

I have thrustmaster shifter, and actually, its not really comfortable when its too close to the wheel, especially on the 2 gear, so i think that should be a good reason why people put their shifter far away from wheel.
