Reading is so much better than KZbin videos because it requires you to not only read the words, but interpret the meaning of those words. There’s a reason why we separate speaking and writing in terms of learning their attributes. Also there are lots of people who cannot read and to be a good reader is impressive to me.

What I find funny is a survey online I found of women saying reading is the most attractive hobby a man can do and Ethan is saying is the worst hobby😂
@killuaaaaaa13913 күн бұрын
And plus, reading isn't just about consuming information. It comes from the heart, like a confession, a diary, a way to express your feelings in an extremely intimate way to each and every reader. That is why no youtuber can ever replace great writers and thinkers, like Kafka, Poe, Camus, Dostoevsky, Orwell, you get my point.

You also need to interpret the meaning when someone is talking i dont see your point
@Arshin1435 күн бұрын
@@kura4982 well when we talk we are not only saying words but there also tones, body language, and nonverbal cues that also help/give us an idea of what a person is trying to convey. When you’re reading you don’t have any of that only words and it’s up to the reader how those words are interpreted. Not that difficult.
@derp.p22 күн бұрын
Reading got done dirty, most people who read read because they’re genuinely interested in something, a grad book gives you a billion times better understanding of something than a few 20 minute KZbin videos you watch for fun. Reading makes you by definition interesting, at least to yourself.
@FanGirl946322 күн бұрын
Facts, reading fiction like comic books is amazing as well.
@derp.p22 күн бұрын
@@FanGirl9463now that you mention that yeah reading fiction may be able to make you more interesting than nonfiction, or at least equal. The normal person is not super interested in some niche academic interest, I think the best one can do is be knowledgeable at something like chemistry and being able to talk about supplements/nutrition which is relevant to literally everyone. On the other hand people talk for hours on stuff like the Bible (/related stuff like Dante’s inferno), house of leaves, etc and do well on KZbin (ex. Wendigoon). Philosophical KZbin essays go hard in real life. I imagine if you can hook someone into a good fictional work then you can talk about it for literal hours compared to nonfiction stuff. Definitely more potential for conversation, may be a little harder to keep people’s interest tho, especially if people need to engage in the material themselves, but if they already do then you are one of the most interesting people in the room for sure

reading is better then watching a youtube video. Even if it’s the same information word for word, you’re not being given a video or visuals, you have to read the text and create the images / abstract ideas in your own head which makes it more personal to you. Helps you “flow” as well cause u need to concentrate, learning on youtube is autopilot and you’ll never get that calm almost serene feeling u get after a solid book sesh my boy

As a warhammer fan, I can agree. I think it’s similar to gaming where you have the range of amazing lore people like Luetin, or chill artists and painters, and people who play the tabletop and are there for the lore and fun of the game. But the power gamers or the clickbait channels or the gatekeepers or the neckbeards can all ruin the vibe sometimes. And I have nothing against the tournament grinders, but that’s just not my thing.

You got a hobby that combines strategic gameplay, being social, being artistic in terms of model building, crafting and painting as well as a huge lore to dive into. It is a very multifacetted hobby. And again, as weird as this sounds...if you ain't a weirdo, it is actually someghing that more women (from the pov of a guy) find interesting than you might think. Most guys are like: "I play soccer or I am into finances" and here you got something that is crafty and many women love it when guys got a crafty hobby since many have one themselves. Besides, it also gives you the talent to craft some cool presents for people :)

Ik right? And multiplayers aren’t the only genre you can play. I play single players by myself all the time and I don’t get why when you say to people: “ I read books all the time” it’s ok, but when you say: “ I play video games all the time” then you’re a weirdo. Gaming is an art that can communicate as much as a book or a film, but I guess ignorance can’t be defeated that easily. Because of this I can’t talk to anyone about them because they would get bored and make fun of me, and it’s really frustrating not being able to share you’re love for something without being made fun of.

Reading has always been one of the fundamental pillars of human development, serving as a gateway to knowledge, empathy, and imagination. It is through reading that we connect with the thoughts and experiences of others, transcending time and space to walk in their shoes. This unique ability to engage with diverse perspectives not only broadens our understanding but also cultivates empathy and compassion. Moreover, reading fuels our curiosity and ignites the spark of lifelong learning. It empowers us to ask questions, seek answers, and challenge the status quo. From scientific breakthroughs to philosophical musings, the written word has propelled humanity forward, inspiring innovation and driving social change. In an ever-evolving world, reading remains a constant source of solace and inspiration. It sharpens our minds, enriches our vocabularies, and enhances our communication skills. Regardless of where we stand in life, reading opens doors to new opportunities, enabling us to grow both personally and professionally. Ultimately, reading is more than just a hobby-it's a transformative experience that shapes who we are and who we aspire to be. As one of the cornerstones of human progress, it deserves to be celebrated and cherished as a vital force in our journey towards a better future. Ultimately, reading is the basis for Learning, one of the most impressive achievements of mankind. All people, from the youngest to the oldest, read and will read. For in the text form is embedded everything accumulated by mankind, and besides, Reading goes far beyond book framework, for example, the same neural network sees the world as continuous zeros and ones and to process this information, it reads this complex code

Let me know my writing for this short story! Ready for the flame or praise! The highway stretched endlessly ahead, the golden hues of a setting sun bathing everything in a warm glow. It felt like a perfect moment. “So... heard you got the promotion,” she said, her voice soft but tinged with excitement. I glanced over briefly, catching the sparkle in her eyes. “Yes, I did,” I said, grinning. “And that means we can finally get that dream house you always wanted.” Her laughter bubbled up like music. “That’d be lovely.” She leaned over and kissed my forehead, her touch light and familiar. I felt invincible. The future seemed certain, mapped out and waiting for us. Then, it happened. A flash of light-no, something glinting, catching the sun. I barely registered it before the world turned violent. The car skidded, the wheel jerking from my grip. Time fractured into moments: her gasp, the screech of tires, the metallic crunch as the world flipped and tumbled. Gravity itself betrayed us, tossing us like rag dolls. When everything stopped, there was silence-terrible, heavy silence. The smell of burnt rubber and gasoline clawed at my throat. And then, darkness. . . . I woke to chaos. White lights seared into my eyes, burning through the fog of unconsciousness. Machines beeped in frantic rhythms, their noises merging with muffled voices I couldn’t fully understand. My chest felt like it was on fire, every breath a battle. “W-what-” I rasped, my voice raw, cracking. My head jerked weakly to the side, searching for her. “Where is she? My wife-” “Sir, please, stay still!” A voice, sharp but urgent, cut through the noise. A figure leaned over me-a doctor, or a nurse, their face obscured by the blinding light. “You’re heavily injured. We brought you back, but we need your consent to proceed.” “To proceed with what?” I tried to push up, but pain lashed through my body, anchoring me to the bed. My vision blurred, fragments of faces and instruments swimming in and out of focus. “Sir!” The voice again, more insistent now. “If you say yes, we can save you. But we need confirmation. Do you consent?” I couldn’t think. Everything felt wrong-disjointed. My wife’s laughter echoed faintly in my mind, a cruel reminder of what I had lost. “Yes,” I croaked, barely managing the word. My breath faltered, my chest heaving. “Just... fix it.” “Okay, sir. This will all be over soon. You’re going to be okay.” Their voice was calm, almost soothing. But the weight of those words felt wrong, a promise too big to believe. The world darkened again, the noises fading into nothingness. . . . I pressed my finger on the glass. Glass. Why was there glass? I then felt like I was suffocating. As I continued to press my fingers on the glass, and my fingers shook. Bones felt like it was cracking. I tried to open my mouth. No mouth was to be felt. That was when I heard a sound- A sound of air depressurizing. I glued my fingers against the glass that I felt. I could not see. I could only feel it. Feel the glass under my fingertips, feeling trapped within whatever I was in. What did they do? That was when the glass broke, and I fell onto the floor, feeling cold. A cold mist lingered, and I felt a layer of . . . silk on my skin. But it didn’t feel like skin. I blinked, as I shivered, staring at the ground, as I lifted my head and slowly crumbled to what felt like a wall, as my vision cleared a bit more. I then got to a mirror, as I pressed my palms against the glass, and rubbed my hands against it. That was when I finally saw myself, and I looked like I was a liquid skin. I lifted my fingers, and put my hands on my skin. The skin peeled back, and I stopped. Feeling cold, as more layers of skin and meat came off the face, to show a blackened metal. I looked down, to see all of it starting to fall apart, and the next time I looked in the mirror, I saw a black metal face with soulless eyes staring right at me. I could not scream.

I’m not a writer so there’s not much constructive feedback I can give but I did enjoy reading it. The story has some descriptive scenes and turns a simple premise into an immersive experience

I can attest to the instrument one. Literally learned how to play guitar and write songs and I’m not able to go to any party without my guitar

I think it’s pretty weird and at extreme cringe bringing your instrument to parties everywhere. Like that can’t be your only hobby and I play guitar and piano, NOW if your asked to bring it do so, or if you see an instrument go ahead. Just bringing it to random parties is strange

@@enriqueperezarce5485 i dont think that its because its their ONLY hobby, just that its their only hobby that they can showcase at a party.

yeah tbh if you bring an instrument to a party where that’s not expected AND you pull it out, you’re screaming to me that you’re desperate for attention which I think everyone knows is the probably the lamest thing at a party

My hobbies must give me aura lol, (Music [Piano, percussion, Composition], Archery, Art, Rock climbing) main hobby would be Music though

Idk if my hobbies give me aura (Piano/Guitar, MMA, Spearfishing, and sometimes Legos lol) that’s pretty much it
