While your point at 19:50 makes the most sense, Gi-Hun would have never considered systematically assassinating key players in order to convince the majority to quit. It goes against the very reason why he's here (to stop the games and the killing of the vulnerable). The thought of killing other players is so unacceptable to him that he even prefers a downright suicidal plan to kill guards and storm the control centre instead of the much easier plan of targeting important circle players and playing the propaganda game. In the end, Gi-Hun's morals is what caused Jung-Bae and all the other conspirators to die, because even he had to admit to In-Ho that he had to sacrifice the unwilling Xs in order to execute his master plan. If we decide to arbitrarily label Os as "bad" and Xs as "good," Gi-Hun's actions actually caused the most good people to die.

Well, his plan in the last ep lead to the death of the vulnerable because he chose not to inform the other Xs of the risk. So innocent people who wanted the game to end died. Of course, this was an indirect death so it might not have felt as bad to Gi-Hun but strategically targeting Os with high debt who are actively trying to keep others in the game would actually fit his morals better.

The fact that you see it that way and others see it as a betrayal is what makes it so compelling. You can see that both the mom and son were conflicted by the situation afterwards. The sons biggest character flaw is that he's spineless and doesn't have his own agency away from his mom, which he tries to gain during the whole show. But he still loves his mom and feels guilt for abandoning her in that moment. I love their story

Fun fact when 001 had to do the spinning top, he kept trying to mess it up using only his left hand while shooting but as much as he tried to mess up he landed it every-time (probably muscle memory from playing it as a kid) so the director suggested he should use his right arm. He was proven to be left handed when he shot his brother at the end of season one

Don’t give me wrong, the tooth trick was pretty clever… however he should’ve known this highly organized game with near limitless resources would be able to detect a tracking device by use of metal detectors. If you absolutely had to try a tracking device, perhaps surgically implanting it would make it a bit harder for the game to detect it? But let’s say for whatever reason he can’t do that. In that case maybe his mercenary should’ve been more proactive in following their boss instead of giving the game masters a chance to take out the chip and planted on some random civilian?

[WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD!] Around the first or second episode, both the recruiter and the frontman asked Gihun (player 456) why he didn't take the "PLANE" that was supposedly his flight away from Seoul or even the country. My hunch was the flight was either a way for him to peacefully go away or was purposely designed by the frontman to lure him into becoming a new frontman or to work for them in another position. Remember that Junho (the police) found records with his brother's profile, which shows that he had also played the game before. Seeing that Inho (the frontman) is alive, it only means that he once won the game before becoming the frontman himself. This gives the idea that Gihun might also become someone who'd be in charge of the game if he wants to or if the insiders insist. So to make it short, the reason why Gihun was still tracked during the first ep, was to make sure he got on the plane and took the flight to who knows where. P.S. This is not an actual thing in the series, I just made a theory based on what I thought after watching it huhu. No hate pls.

So his plan was to go in with a tracker (plan B) but in my opinion, the way he did this should have been done differently. He is very rich and could probably find some corrupted cops, and doing the plan you mentioned (how squid games find you and you should tell homeless people you will give them money if they help you find squid games and/or give you there card) then you could get the cops to use some of you're helicopters (remember you're rich) to go to the location these games are being held (via tracker in tooth) then you could easily get them to go there for money, and have someone you trust to make sure the corrupted cops don't just dip (place trackers in the helicopters also). This way you can have cops at the place the games are being held to make sure you can stop the games once and for all. Once the cops are there have them record some of it being sent to that trusted friend so that they have evidence of well... murder. Also the cops obviously don't have to be corrupted infract they could just be some people who can be trusted who are willing to do it (probably for money ofc) so that you can stop the games.

Gi-hun (player 456) should’ve listened to The Front Man’s (Player 001) plan to “attack first”if he was gonna get anyone killed anyway, at least let it be the threat they were facing (which defeats the purpose why he was there anyway cuz he supposedly didn’t want anyone to die) instead of Gi-hun’s stupid plan about taking over. Or better yet, actually took The Front Man’s advice in the last season and should’ve gotten on that damn plane. Your daughter means more than this! She should be your number one priority. Period. The Front Man had already shown that they are one step ahead so far, but obviously, The Front Man knew Gi-hun wasn’t going to listen to him anyway. The Front Man literally gave Gi-hun that menacing look when Gi-hun insisted on risking other people’s lives and The Front Man, with those evil, yet satisfying eyes, stares at him and was thinking “You are no better than me…” (That’s my take on it anyway) and gave Gi-hun that smirk. He even asked Gi-hun, “Are you sure?” Bro…he is literally trying to let you know you’ll be out numbered. He had told you so. All the warning signs. Like, c’mon….that was a stupid plan and The Front Man knew it, but played along and only proving his point. Anyways, Gi-hun just hid under the bed and watched, and The Front Man watched Gi-hun watching others kill his own mates, with no guilt on his face, and The Front Man noticed…literally staring at Gi-hun…only proving his point….once again. Even after The Front Man tried to WARN Gi-hun, only proves you can’t reason with him cause he is so focused on revenge, he lost his reason to be there after he didn’t warn those other innocent people. When Gi-hun gave The Front Man the extra magazine for his gun, The Front Man asked Gi-hun AGAIN, “AREEE YOUUU SUREEE?”Gi-hun was so blinded by his rage and selfishness, he didn’t even fully realize the actual f’d up situation he was actually in. He still gambled on his life and his friends. He, once again, lost another childhood friend. Gi-hun literally got himself in that situation. The Front Man had to teach him a lesson for “trying to be a hero”. I don’t blame The Front Man. He was always asking “ARE YOU SURE?” It’s plainly obvious The Front Man tried to get him to understand, but no…he wanted to be a “hero”. Now he is stuck with the consequences for his actions. Now, he has no one. His daughter, yes, but if I was her, I’d be like “bye.” I know from personal experience…but, people can be hurt so many times before they become numb, and when they apologize over and over, it literally means nothing anymore…and even if you do forgive, you never forget. Edit : I also wanted to add that I really enjoyed The Front Man, (player 001) in the games, in the group…just in general. I loved trying to get a read on his face and loved his facial expressions, those evil, yet satisfying stares he gave. I don’t want him behind that mask, I wanna see his FACE!! I’m gonna miss the hell out of that sh*t. His acting was the best out of the whole cast. (My opinion.) They’re obviously other great actors and actresses, but, he had me interested in the last season when he took his mask off and still had me when it was revealed he was player 001. My man had Resting B*tch Face…(for the show or maybe he does irl as well…idk.) The point I’m trying to make is that he is a very talented actor. I legit have RBF and people have a hard time reading me, too. He truly intrigued me. His eyes literally spoke for him most of the time. I looked forward every episode going forward and it was a bummer to see him back in that mask. I literally enjoyed watching/studying his face. I’m pretty good at reading people and he had me actually thinking and that’s very rare for me to come by.

Personally if I were gi hun I'd have let dae ho go to town on the O's. Only the X's are willing to rebel which presents problems for both the hosts and the rebels: firstly if the rebellion fails then they're now outnumbered by the O's and can't win a vote Secondly: if all the X's are eliminated, they need O's to continue the game. But if all the O's are dead, they have no choice but to spare at least some of the X's unless they want to disappoint the VIP's

Not only that, if they adopt Hyun-Ju's strategy of splitting into groups that only need one stragglers each, but if they need 5, they can split into 3 groups of 4 and 7 by splitting into 2 groups of 6. If there are people around them they know will travel in pairs, you can also cover 8. Only 9, 10 and 11 are difficult to cover, which is hilarious given after all that the first number they called was 10.

The problem is that they purposefully start calling numbers where there are more players than possible groups and if it gets to that point the teamwork goes out the window bc only some of the 12 person group can survive

@gameslayer3343 yes, this strategy isn't for saving everyone, it's about saving just the group of 12, which is absolutely doable if they're only looking to thin down to 100 players. Whether you're splitting up into 2 groups or 6, you can find your pack quickly and sprint for the door. Think about our two protagonist groups combo'd together with two stragglers. Any number you pick it's pretty intuitive to imagine how people would group up together. Just that little bit of prep improves speed and accuracy, which could save your life.

@@meredithliefde588 Right, but that's just not reasonable. When they've already found natural alliances of 5, 12 is a much more manageable number to come up with. It's not foolproof, but covers almost every likely scenario if you figure the most likely numbers will be between 1 and 10, and if that assumption is wrong you've already made progress towards a higher number. You don't need 60 people, the goal is that you all survive and keep coming back together.

In their defense, they owe a bunch of money, which is, y'know, the modern-day lifeblood as it let's you get health-care, water, food, shelter, clothes, all that good stuff. Maybe they have a condition, like Gi-hun's mom, and went into debt so they don't die, maybe they have a gambling addiction (which IS an addiction, so that warrants sympathy). We don't know what they went through to get to this point. Also, it's not unreasonable to assume the whole "you fail you die" is a joke, because who comes up with a game just to kill people? But yeah Gi-hun is stupid. At least give the mother a good amount of child support if you aren't able to gain visitation rights.

They chose to be there because if they were in the real world it would be worse than getting killed. There is no invisible boogeyman forcing them to be there. The games give people with no hope something to bring them out of their unfortunate situation that nothing else would be able to do. Without the games these people wouldn't be better off. They would all just be miserable. The games are ethical.

Well, to be fair, the protagonist probably knew he could leave, but he was so determined to put an end to the game that he was relying on the mercenaries to rescue him with his tracker. Maybe if the protagonist had found out sooner rather than later that his tracker was missing, then im sure he wouldn't have signed up for the game. His mistake was underestimating the masked men. He should have checked if he still had the tracker when he woke up because he should have known that they would have searched him completely, especially since he knew that the masked men knew about his intentions.
