Updating Outdated WooCommerce Template Files

Flatsome is great Theme for eCommerce I am glad these insights fixed it up (always remember to make backups) or even try out paid backup services (small fee but you can sleep better)

incase of modified woocommerce files what do we do ? you have explained ON updating older outdated files but for modified / hard-coded changes files how do we proceed without afffecting our modifications ?

If the theme has custom code, do i just copy the code from the template in the system into the new update version I downloaded? And then upload that?

Yes. Tedious work no doubt. But one that must be done. 1 thing to consider here. Although simple copy/paste will 99% of times work. In rare cases, code that you copy may also need to be updated (e.g. depreciated PHP functions, depreciated WordPress hooks, or outdated WooCommerce filters etc.) in such case, you will also need to update the code that you are copying. *HOW TO UPDATE WooCommerce in such cases* Backup the entire site first. Follow the same steps as the video insights. Copy the custom code to the updated version. Test the site. (This is surely for small traffic site, or a site you own and do not mind downtime if it happens). *If issues?* revert back to previous version. Re-fix custom code. Re-update.

Just to be clear: the Status - Templates outdated files check is to be done AFTER the Woocommerce plugin update?

That's correct, but critically *backup must be done before update* simply login to Web Hosting File Manager locate your Theme folder (right click and *compress*) then you have a backup of entire Theme Folder. In fact, the correct way would be to *backup WooCommerce Plugin* which is within plugins folder. Then do the update
