I think Ranma 1/2 made my expectations of a good relationship really high. I grew up knowing that if a person truly loved me, I wouldn’t have the need to be so touchy feely or open about my feelings. Though the need for cuddles and “I love you’s” were still there. It doesn’t have to be there *all the time*. I didn’t have the need to conform as to what a “Loving Relationship” looks like to the general public. I wanted to have a person surround me in their loving arms and protect me, at the same time, I can protect them too. I can stand on my own two feet with my beloved beside me. Ranma 1/2 was one of the first anime that got me hooked on it and I didn’t even expect that I would fall in love with an old franchise for over a decade.
