Not only are you doing a fantastic job you are more articulate in English than many native English-speakers. Impressive!

I believe you said to turn the showerdoor inwards. Maybe you could consider to turn it outwards because, for whatever reason, if you fall or slip and are unconscious, wich can happen easely, nobody can get to you because you lay against te door. If its possible or necessary one turns the door to the largest room/space.

Seeing where the mast will be in the cabin, the cutting of part of the primary bulkhead, it is great to see the boat take shape. Great to spend time with family and work on a non-boat project together. I just realised it will be 9 years this year since I started watching your videos! Although YT changed my user name along the way. The next video will be the 450th one.

Yes I don’t think most people appreciate just how tough epoxy is and how strong a bond it makes to materials like wood or foam. In fact in most cases edge joining two pieces of material actually adds strength to that area rather than creating a weak spot. Try and break a bond by bending two joined pieces and invariably it won’t break where the join is! Btw Johan, you’re doing a really first rate job. As expected. Cheers

Hi, I worked in KLM maintenance for years. Also a lot of repairs using roughly the same vacuüm methods. Only with prepreg bonding film with a heat blanket. You could maybe put the tacky tape, when you are making the curved pieces, on the side of the mold. Or put the whole mold with the curved pieces in a vacuüm bag. Its just a suggestion from a admirer of you both

4:52 i like the idea of the toilet being slightly angled, because without getting graphic, i think it’s far more normal for humans to have their legs apart when using it, (have a look how you sit next time, I doubt with your knees together?)
@trevhedges35 минут бұрын
You think about it, that toilet seat/ bowl is on an Angle, you will be able to brace yourself with your shoulders in the corner, but also have plenty of leg room, which again is more natural and also provides more stability & actually uses less floor space.. it’s ideal..

Please excuse me Malin. Your descriptions of the shower area, as you pretend to wash and do your hair, along with your Swedish accent tickles me. 😊 You are obviously so excited to be “feeling” your dream boat, as you should be. I’m very happy for you both, but not forgetting how much more work is involved before you have the opportunity to share that shower space with each other. Again, excuse me, she’s just so darn cute! ❤

aren't those foam triangles [for the filet] the same as having empty air? do they soak up resin? it would seem so much stronger to have thickened epoxy and fiberglass - yes way more work but exponentially stronger - I could be wrong...
@Gus.197923 минут бұрын
Have you tried or thought about an electric blanket. For the variable settings and a timer that they have? Wondering if it would be more efficient than leaning the heater over Or would it need more energy and get epoxied to the table?

Have you looked at using Edura fiberglass panels?
@trevhedgesСағат бұрын
2:47 and added benefit of using this foam other than price and it’s impervious to water & ease of working with it (as if that wasn’t enough) it’s actually a brilliant noise and temperature insulation quality! Why more boat builders don’t use it? Is beyond me.. it’s light, strong, and effective at doing what’s required, KZbin is full on backyard lake houseboats being constructed using absolutely non skilled hobbyists making great little lake camper/ fishing boats and not having any issues whatsoever..
@davidcatanach26202 сағат бұрын
If the glue is stronger than the foam a join will actually add strength to the panel. Similar to the timber laminations being stronger than solid wood.

Definitely worth a look at ... the manouverability of the system and control demonstrated is quite impressive akin to a Catamaran... First time I see you and Matt build the same thing, but slightly differently. You didn’t seem to be concerned with filling the kerf cut entirely with thickened epoxy. Now I don’t know who to imitate when the day comes.
@ctown697112 минут бұрын
20:15 Why don't you use thickend epoxy and just create a cove like other builders do instead of these wedges you are installing? Seems like extra work and more materials used.

At my knowledge Level it looks you are doing vacuum molding, but have you considered vacuum infusion?. By the way hat of for what you are doing. Dont know if imasked before what you to had as professions in the past? 😊
@BrianSimpson-tk3xj50 минут бұрын
It seems odd that you use vacuum on the flat bulkheads when gravity and weight would be easy and sufficient and then don’t use it for your foam fillet and tabbing where it would improve the nature of the bond.
