Rant V Twins where are they now?

600 Transalp is the only bike I've bought new off a dealer forecourt, right when they launched. Rode it in two of Honda Transalp rallies around Europe, great bike, V Twins always my favourite engine.

Hey David . Yes I love the first transalp . It looks like it's supposed to . Great bike . I used to commute with my mate on the back . And all our scaffolding tools .. and it was fine . No idea how we all ended up with 1200cc plus bikes when a 5 or 600 cc is plenty good enough . But that's another rant . Hope you are OK buddy .. Peace and love brother ✌️ 🧡

Never ridden a v-twin so can't really comment . I'm with you on new things being called beetles , minis when they are nothing like the original . Cheers mate

Yeah , I've got nothing against parallel twins I've had loads. But what bothers me is certain iconic bikes were Vs and now they're not . I've had singles. Twins Triples Vtwins Boxer twins V 4s and Inline fours and they're all great . It's just strange how they can change configuration and keep the name.. The africa twin could have been called the cb1100x like the big brother of the cb500x and I bet they'd have sold just as well .. I just don't get it . Any way never mind this super modern stuff what we really need is classic forms like a BSA goldstar .... ok you beat me to it! Peace and love brother .. ✌️ ❤️

I loved my SV1000, however my Tiger 800 is much more comfortable and the engine is brilliant, flexible, and makes the bike easier to ride because of its flexibility. The parallel twins are cheaper to build and easier to pack in a bike compared with a v twin so I guess that’s the reason they are disappearing. Harley just can’t change, the old geezers that ride them are too stuck in the mud to allow it.
