You guys have no idea how hard it is to make a jig like that. Randy poured all 92 years of his experience fishing jigs into the design. Each jighead is hand carved out of a 2 pound block of lead before it goes to be powder painted one speck at a time. Then the skirt is hand laid one strand at a time in order to make those complex colors...one of them even has purple tinsel and that stuff ain't cheap. Just think of the time he's saving you by trimming the brush guard for you too...I place a high value on my personal time and that alone makes the jig practically free at $10 a pop.

You can buy enough living rubber to make 32 , 6 inch jigs for 7 bucks. I can buy 10 unpainted jigs for 6.50, 100 weed guards for 3 bucks, and enough powder coat for 300 jigs for 7-8 bucks. I bought a couple to support the channel, and compared to my own jigs and the quality control is horrible. It cost me less than 2 bucks a piece to make 100 jigs.

Randy's one of those old school anglers who's been around forever and has a piss poor resume when it comes to tournament wins. He's barely average talent imo. Denny Brauer is somebody who should sell jigs ,and he does, not RB. At his age selling $10 jigs is a way to make up for lack of winnings and to pay the bills. He's still around because he can sweet talk people into buying a $10 jig and whatever else he's selling. Back in November he was already baiting the masses for his jig release trying to say the jig was the number one winning bait of 2021 😉 I have nothing against supporting someone you like. I have about 100 jigs lying around, so I don’t need to buy any more. But I did buy two of these because they’re locally made and I’ve learned a lot about fishing for free from Randy. But when those two are gone I’ll be going back to my box of $3.00 jigs until the last one is gone before I spend another $20 on 2 jigs.

@@TheBaitmanTV That’s pretty much the way I look at it. He’s not gonna be buying a private jet off of the money from these! Also, your video was a great critique of Randy’s specific selling points of his jig; the design, the American-made, hand-tying, rubber skirts, etc. I hope he sees your video!

Yes sir I know but if the man can sell them at $10 then I say go for it. I mean can anyone justify a high cost lure? Can Z-man really justify the cost of there jack hammer yea I know it catches fish but like you said you broke down the components and said his lure wasn’t with $10 so breaking down components is the jackhammer worth $19?. I say leave the poor man alone and let him make his money. He’s old and not on the circuit anymore so let him be.
@TheBaitmanTV2 жыл бұрын
@@mauricemiller1128 they don’t cost 19.00. If your laying that I can point you in a better direction. Zman doesn’t own the JH. Evergreen has to pay them 2.00 a bait so it can be sold in the USA.

I’m actually a big fan of Randy. I like his style but I think he made a big mistake coming out with this jig. It’s gonna hurt his brand.

Folks said the same thing when the Megabass vision 110 and the jackhammer came out at $20 and over. He’s prob thinking why not be the first to make 10 jig lol. People will pay it if it gets results. Just the way the game is trending.
@TheBaitmanTV2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but this is a jig that’s been around 40 years
@brandon87ize2 жыл бұрын
I understand that as well as your point on the matter. What I was saying was it was coming at some point anyway. Folks are money hungry and a jig to a lot of bass fishermen is sac religious. They will do crazy things for that special jig. Your ultimately right I just know it’s coming. Everything is going up and folks want to be the first one on the up train.
@TheBaitmanTV2 жыл бұрын
@@brandon87ize i see your point. They main difference between the 110 and the jackhammer vs is a jig is there wasn’t really anything like them on the market.

Lol. Same guys complaining on a 10 jig will pay 15-20 for a bladed jig. My PB is on a $5 chatterbait..

There’s absolutely nothing about the jig that makes it worth $10. I order custom hand poured, hand tied living rubber jigs from Jack’s Custom Jigs in Blaine Ky. I think he charges $4 a jig.
@AdamMiharaFishing2 жыл бұрын
If the Evergreen Jig is $10 and a Jackhammer is $16.99 we are paying $7 for the blade, snap, and connection patent. Components, import tax, and labor to create the Jig vs JHammer are the same. I don't justify the cost but I understand it.
@TheBaitmanTV2 жыл бұрын
2.00 goes to Zman right off the top for the JH. The hook is pretty expensive. Decoy Snap. etc. Import Tax, etc. So honestly its not too far off. I do have a grass ripper jig and it was 7.00. Prob the most expensive jig I own. Not sure its worth it either

I dont see how any of the "never before extra long skirt, custom head design, and dobt forget custom short shank hook" adds up to close to $10.. now he does have a rather cult like following and maybe using that to his advantage, 50k followers in little over 1-1.5 years.... but still lots of hypocrisy talking about not throwing a jackhammer, yet will pitch/flip a 10$ jig... I'm all about people and thier opinion but he better not start getting pissed off when people start saying don't buy that jig when he has literally told Hella people not to buy a jackhammer or live scope.

I think Randy is an old school fisherman. I get it. I love the old school stuff. But you have to adapt. I can’t fault him for his bait choices. Some guys swear by the MB Pop Max. I can’t get a bite on one

In my part of the country, when there is a good jig bite going, i may loose 5 in a day. There is no way i will pay $10 each and loose $50 fishing them. i don't care how good the jig is hooks get dull and jigs get hung up. Sometimes you just have to break them off and tie a new one on. $10 is asinine!

Yes. I use a lot of Moynah Rock Jigs out deep. They dont have weedguards. I buy em in bulk by 100. So they cost me less than a 1.00 a piece. Also pour my own ball head for out deep.Lot easier to stomach losing 5-10 in a day or two

The market will settle this situation. Whether people will pay this much is going to be based on their perception of its value.
