@@bigal-san2k197 it's the most basic shonen ever, with repetitive plotline PURELY carried by animation. the villain backstories pretty much have nothing to say except for the fact they went through a bad life and shi and the hashira are the SAME. it's generic shonen with basically no innovations. the visuals and the voice acting is what makes it so appealing. HOWEVER, inspite of agreeing to what the video says, i think kimi no na wa is actually pretty good especially cuz of the complex storyline. it doesn't do well as a romance but it's cool how the story unfolds. im not more of a romance guy so the chemistry really didn't matter to me.

I am so glad I wasn't the only one to think it was stupid as shit. The whole movie "is a dream sequence". Why was it a dream? "bUt tHEy TImE TwaveLED". No, there was no time travel, there was no switching bodies....prove me wrong without telling me to watch the movie...oh wait....no evidence was left behind and no one remembers anything that happened. Which makes it just a dream. There is no romance. There is no action. The story is the most convoluted story I have ever encountered in my life. Everything the characters did in the story was meaningless. There was no explaination for why anything in this anime happens. Story is the most awful thing I have ever heard of. WEDDING PEACH has a better written story than this garbage has. They never remember each other, the events they were in were never explained and ultimately meaningless. You could had made an infinitely better if they actually DID have a dream about each other and then tried to find each other and did.

In terms of modern movies in general, only: - violet evergarden the movie - maquia: when the promised flower blooms - I want to eat your pancreas Are the ones that are actually a masterpiece because of: - focuses more on being a character driven story than a plot driven one, which is the reason why it’s a compelling and a well written story - character development/depth (haruki from shutting himself off from others to accepting others and knowing what it feels to be loved that’s all thanks to sakura for being such a well written character and for being a true pivotal character for his growth and development, maquia from not knowing anything about being a mom but circumstances and hardships occurred that led her to Ariel to becoming one of the best moms in anime history, and violet from a “tool” used for war to a human being with flawed emotions and she was able to express her feelings more openly, which is all thanks to the strong supporting characters from season 1 up to the last movie, and the movie was definitely the best way to wrap up violet evergarden as a whole) - all of the characters in the three movies I’ve mentioned feel human and realistic, in actions or in their motives - there were no cookie cutter/cardboard cutout characters at all, and they bring something to the table - people be saying that your name has good animation and soundtracks but guess what, they don’t!

Okay, here goes since you didn't understand the plot... The film is heavily based on japanese folklore. Basically the red string of fate, but reimagined and extrapolated in a very creative way. The red string of fate connects two individuals and brings them together romantically; but here, it is not only geographical boundaries that are transcended, but time itself. The film is set out like a bunch of loose threads starting with seemingly unrelated events, but as the film progresses, just like the weaving of individual strands to make a cord, the pieces start to come together. The film takes the motif of string and layers it through the connections of multiple events through musubi. But what truly makes this film brilliant from a storytelling perspective is the creativity employed in extrapolating this motif, especially in regards to the comet and the hairstyles.

i get your opinion but i really just highly disagree call me a typical normie anime fan who only watches anime that are popular something like that but makoto shinkai films maybe be popular and rated high...ITS CAUSE THE FILMS DESERVE IT first of all the story is amazing and tragic and relatable tell me if you where on there shoes let say you somehow magically switch places with someone your age and is your type and it continued for a decent amount of time and you speak with them through writing messages would you not fall in love with that peson? or atleast curious to find out who she is if you ask me i would not let a single moment go to waste and try to find that girl not because im a simp well partly but there has to be a reason it migth as well be faith that connected them together so if i where in his shoes i would do the same try to find the girl no matter what and the meteor is not the reason for them switching the meteor is their to kill mitsuha and the whole village and the reason is not yet specified how they switch thats a bit of a bummer but i dont really care how they switch bodies its just the main cahracters where just so damn good they where not special or anything it was just 2 person who where in love makoto shinkai wanted as to put ourselves in there place mitsuha and taki where nothing special they had normal personalities the thing that made it so intresting its because we wanted them to meet up and after 7 years that conclussion was beutiful and pls dont tell you did not feel bad when they finally meeted up but plot slaps you and mitsuha disappears and taki writed HE LOVED HER RATHER THAN HIS NAME that was stupid but made me cry and while all that was happening beautiful catchy music where playing i respect your opinion that you just dont like it but i swear for someone who likes torodora but dosent like your name is actually weird but i guess great video since you just did not say your name suck and made the video a 10 minutes rant where there is no reasons and only trashtalking the characters and making dumb offensive jokes thank god its not that type of video atleast you gave reason but just wanna say i really disagree with your opinion its not like it matters tho

Nah I was chill with it being a body swap movie but the plot twist with the meteor pissed me off a bit 😭 cause the whole hour was about that and the movie stopped making sense at points in terms of time. The ending was my fav part too that was a great way to end it. I wanted to watch it cause I only knew this movie for the gifs people post about. Nothing about the story 😭
