I'm Thai and am a part of the protest. Me , friends and our family have been in the shooting and water cannon scene. I really appreciate you raise this problem up. I really do. Thank you so much. 1. The president you mention is actually the king and queen. Some people and themselves think of them as god figures, the untouchable. 2. The royal family and gov are so corrupted that they let people die on street and told these people to be more frugal. 3. People who speaking up to them, including me right now, are risking our life. Literally. 4. The military coup d'etat started 7 years ago, 2014. We're still ruled by them since. They bribed and rewrite the law so much that the winning party in the last election can't form a government. 5. There're at least 9 confirmed cases of force disappearance by the gov, some of them are even royalists. At least 109 people became refugee and fled the country for their life. 6. 1 grandpa, age 61, framed and get thrown into jail for Lèse-majesté, 112 law. Later, found innocence but he already died in jail neglected by staff and refused medical care. 7. Kids under 17 get threaten at home from police officers just because they said they need better education. 8. Police use lethal rubber head bullet for protest control during peaceful. (Can kill if shoot in close distance)
