"no snitching" culture baffles me as blackman, like you'd willingly rob and kill other black people yet draw the line at someone telling the truth about you in court... was watching the rapper XXXTentacion (black) murder case and one of the robbers called out the other on snitching, he did not see anything wrong with stealing and killing from another black person or anyother race for that matter.

I mean it’s just a word that non-black people shouldn’t be using, in rap culture or otherwise. It seems to be perfectly acceptable in the black community - the word is otherwise just a cultural slang but one that we can’t use because of its horrible history. *Hip-Hop-Hater Here!* *You speak facts here!* ... I am black (Although Not a Pan-African or Black Muslim)... When *Malcolm X* gave up the street life, upon exiting Prison, he had obtained an outstanding vocabulary... *One of his greatest weapons against Social Injustice was his diction!* ... It disturbs me greatly to see wealthy black athletes & entertainers who can't pay a tutor to help them learn how to enunciate words correctly or read the contracts they sign! 😔✍️🏽

Years ago, some rappers were offered money by executives to make violent music, so listeners would become violent, and the prisons would fill up. The exec would make money every time a cell was occupied. Some rappers made that deal.

Funny, and True. Most RAPPERS away from the stage,, in their own lives,, are spiritual, decent,, honorable people. Some are not obviously,,,but most are just people trying to get ahead, while doing something they love. Just folks spitting words and rymes. 😊

Snitching is specifically connected to crime, criminal activity, criminal conduct, criminal activity, criminal acts, criminal systems, and criminal offenses. There is right and wrong in a civil society.

Remember the 60s and 70s when songs reflected the hope for a peaceful world. It was about love and true inclusion. Respect for each other was built into the lyrics. These songs were written by all colors and all races. They had a way of bringing a spirit of togetherness.

Sick music ! Words in music are powerful and they do influence people . Just like violence and sex in movies . Especially dangerous to the youth .

There is absolutely a direct correlation of gangster rap and when more private prisons opened up you got to keep them filled and young people are so easily influenced we need to stop idolizing celebrities and change the culture as a whole and this world will be a better place

I'm 60 years, and with that said I remember when rap in the 70s was like poetry in song form. I used to listen to rap until the early 90s and then is when rap took a wrong turn and start becoming vulgar and by the 2000s it becoming even more vulgar and explicit and the theme was disrespecting women, gang culture and glorifying everything that is wrong and evil in society. I encourage parents to monitor what kind of music their kids listen to.
