Moonbyul is completely a musical genius, either because she is an excellent lyricist and composer, (in fact she is the most credited female idol of all time, with 118 songs to her name so far), because she is able to sing and rap extremely well or because she is very versatile in terms of music genres and concepts, to show all her albums, since they are all completely different from each other, but at the same time you can feel that they are all her songs.

@@ChainReactionsChannel The four members of the group are credited as lyricists and composers, in fact Mamamoo is the most credited female group in K-pop and half of those credits, which are more than 200 songs, are for Moonbyul. Mamamoo are the Vocal Queens of Kpop but all their members can rap and dance, although their main rapper is Moonbyul and she and Wheein are their best dancers. They are also going on 10 years into their career and their discography is immense where they have shown that there is almost no genre that they have not yet mastered.

I am so happy that this is your first introduction to Moon Byul and that you love her voice! She is the rapper in probably the greatest vocal group kpop (and I say that as a Red Velvet fan!) so it’s easy to overlook her singing voice in the beginning. But she is a wonderful singer and a queen rapper too. One of my favourite female artists and Mamamoo is one of my favourite groups. The Killing Voice will end you. RIP 😅

Moon Byul is releasing a first album in a couple of weeks, can't wait to see what it'll be like! Feels like long overdue, long known for her rap ability she does have an amazing singing voice too! As for the song, this one might grow on me, didn't felt like my style when I heard it this morning for the first time but it's catchy... I'll have to read the lyrics to it too.

Oh yes! Her voice color/tone is unique! I love her voice the most actually because it has weight, richness that is rare in kpop. Imo it gives more dynamics to her singing which brings out the emotion of the song more, giving the song life. And i’ve been her fan for years. Plus when she writes, the lyrics gonna be fire. Like a poet, her words really beautiful. And the MV in vertical is like her viewing what the fans do for her during comeback periods, like dance challenge, putting ads from her phone. That’s an interesting concept.

Everyone's already recommended her other solo work title tracks to you, so I'll also mention that she's recently released her Present EP containing some of her birthday songs that she wrote for the fans every year on her birthday - the songs Present, Chemistry and 3 Days before Christmas. Her first original birthday song is Snow, which is included in the Dark Side of the Moon EP, from which we have the title track Eclipse. In the repackaged version later, a new intro track Satellite was included as well as new song Absence which also has performance MV. There's actually also a Dingo video that shows performance of the two new tracks too 🌼. 6equence is the EP that included Lunatic. She's also released MV for each of the rest of the songs on the tracklist apart from the intro track as well, if you're interested✨. For the intro track Synopsis, she's got the choreography version from her mini concert available to view on her channel 문별이다 moonbyul2da. Lastly I'll mention that her most recent music was in a subunit called Mamamoo+ consisting of her and leader Solar. They have released MV for songs Better, GGBB, Chico Malo, LLL, 댕댕, Save Me. Save Me also has a beautiful acoustic version available on the Mamamoo+ channel. Note that Mamamoo and Mamamoo+ channels are distinct but searches may confuse them sometimes. She specifically opts to avoid gendering her lyrics most times cause she wants to be as inclusive as possible which is why in Shutdown when she specifically said and wrote "She said" in English it was a huge deal and instantly made the song a sapphic anthem in Korea because Moonbyul has always been very careful to not gender and here she made a point to do so.

Back during the killing voice she actually was super self conscious about singing (I mean she was in a group with 3 vocal queens so I get it) but she's been much more vocal heavy in the last 2-3 years.

Moomoo is the fandom name (Moo is Korean for radish which is why the mamamoo nightstick is a radish) This is the pre-release for her new full album on the 20th very hype very different as per usual from Moon. Some Moon songs id recommend is "Eclipse", "Lunatic", and if your in the mood for some sapphic sensual seduction "Shutdown" is one of my faves of hrs aswell Also big yes to the killing voice low key when I see you upload and it's not a lil bit of me is sad. Also is you ever want a good look in-depth into the group an amazing video essay called "why MAMAMOO is the most underrated kpop group" is perfect not as fun as the purple hawk guide (which I also recommend) but I feel like it goes into a bit more depth why they are so incredible at at least worth the watch on your own time.

Hi there! Great reaction! So nice to see this today. Moonbyul is a unique and gifted talent that shines brightly in the firmament of K-pop stars. I definitely agree you should earmark Eclipse (great video) and Lunatic (two great videos! & I recommend them both). I would also suggest adding Selfish to the list-it’s a nice piece of solo fluff from 2018 that features Seulgi (she’s an up & coming singer/dancer with another group) and references some of Mamamoo’s work in a cheeky way (there may also be a poke or two at PSY - it’s difficult to tell sometimes). There’s like 6 dozen Mamamoo videos to watch (only 18 in the killing voice though) so what’s one more, am i right? (Only slightly exaggerating) I kind of think we were talking about a couple of other rappers but my memory fades…did Dingo block your video?
