This album was dedicated to Rev... at the beginning of the video you notice the drum kit as they are going down the hallway...Rev had written over half of this album before he died and the band almost broke up but his parents wanted them to keep playing...❤

No, The Rev had written 90% of the album according to Syn and Matt. There was very little left to do with the Nightmare album besides get in the studio and record it. And according to Zack, the only hard decision the band had to make at that time was select who would fill-in for The Rev during the recording process. When Mike Portnoy stepped forward and offered his assistance, they knew their decision had been made for them as The Rev continued citing Mike as an ongoing inspiration- which is saying a lot as people close to the band have since revealed that The Rev had actually stopped looking up to many of his childhood heroes once he began surpassing most of them as he advanced in skill and expertise in his own truncated career
