Never not gonna love Avenged Sevenfold, their songs are so iconic, and they were never stingy with music, I remember discovering them off of call of duty, they had multiple songs in the zombie mode, they even made one for cod zombies, it makes the songs so much better imo. The songs they had in zombies were "Shepherd of Fire", "Not Ready To Die", "Mad Hatter", and this one. Shepherd of Fire is my personal fav tbh.

Bought their album 'Waking the Fallen' back in 2003 when it first came out just based on hearing one song (Unholy Confessions) and has been undeniably the greatest album purchase I ever made. Like them or not, you cannot deny that this band KNOWS how to make music. 🔥 Another A7X song that is absolutely phenomenal, yet wildly overlooked, is 'Strength of the World'. IMO (even though it's not my favorite song) it is one of the greatest songs ever created. Just musically, thematically, atmospherically top tier.

As a lifelong rock/metal fan any discussion of best bands isn’t a good use of time. There are so many amazing musicians who all do things differently. If you’re at the beginning of that journey then every band is going to be as incredible as the next. Some pillars will be Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, slayer and then those will give you a good for basically anything else you listen to. Tamer rock like Billy Joel like you said will obviously be very different but just as vital to listen to.
