BTS is not just a typical KPop idol group. They are global A-listers. They're the only artist who got 3 number 1 albums in less than a year since The Beatles. They have broken records set by The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, One Direction etc. They are not just known for being great singers, rappers and dancers but also, their Korean lyrics are so deep, meaningful and inspirational. The message they send through their lyrics, music and artistry resonates with the general public because they tackle depression, anxiety, mental health, discrimination, social expectations, injustices, self love, hard work, following your dreams etc. They have 3 English songs Dynamite, Butter and Permission To Dance which they released during the height of the global pandemic to bring positive vibe and hope to all their fans across the world. Their 3 English songs are not really that deep compared to their Korean songs. The seven members are all songwriters, producers and composers. Although they have in-house producers, they are actively involve in writing, composing and producing their songs from their debut album in 2013 to their solo stuff until now. Their music genres include Pop, Disco-pop, Hip Hop/Rap, Latin Pop, EDM, R&B/Soul, Ballad, Funk, Synth Pop, New Age, Moombhaton, Electronica etc. Name it, they have it. As of March 2023, they have already won over one thousand awards and counting plus individual awards with 28 Guinness World Record. They top Billboard, Itunes, Spotify, and other music platforms. K-Pop is an industry rather than a genre, and it encompasses many genres of music, as does the versatile discography of BTS. Although at first glance NTS seems like a typical boy and, their talent and bond with their fans has shown they are so much more. They are a SUPERGROUP of musical talent of which the likes has never been seen on the worldwide music scene before. Their fanbase is a much larger demographic than just teen girls. I’m 53 years old, and a huge fan, and I find many other older people are also big fans of BTS, because their music is amazing. I really hope that you will enjoy continuing this BTS journey.💜

There are more fans that are not teens, however I love the fact that their fans are so diverse & vast. They are rapping & singing in Korean, but the genre is hip-hop, R&B, rock, Pop etc...

I recommend you check their latest live performance of Mic Drop from their Yet To Come Busan concert last October where it was attended by 70k live audience and was livestreamed by over 50M worldwide causing the apps to crash from time to time. If you're a rap fan, go through their rap work first. Born Singer is a rap heavier song of theirs, it's their own rendition of Born Sinner by J.Cole. And their 3 rappers did a few rap songs together, Outro: Tear is a great one. I'd do a lyric vid+ the Wembley night live performance in their all-black Dior fits. Each of their 3 rappers have a lot of solo work too. I'd start with Joke by RM, Daechwita by Agust D, Arson by J-Hope

One of the strongest rap line in K-pop, whenever they make a comeback, no one comes close to what they hit on their releases. They have 24 World Records in recent for the Guinness book which is a literal jaw dropping amount. The group with biggest hand in Korea's economy, they contribute in total 25% of it's total economy. They are the ones which made K-pop famous worldwide and even on US Billboard charts which was just achieved so rarely and now is the most common thing to see cuz of them. Just so you know, BTS are not like a Western Boy Band. By the way, I'm a 57 year old BTS ARMY, and so is my husband. My 31 year old daughter isn't a fan of BTS, she introduced me to Blackpink, and I was intrigued by their swag and confidence, so I checked them out (She is a fan of SUGA, and we both attended his sold out concert recently). I ended up checking out BTS after a while, because they kept coming up in my KZbin recommendations. I checked them out and was very impressed, and it peaked my curiousity. The more I checked them out, the more I liked them, and realized, these guys are not just a boyband, they are serious artists. The difference between the first group and BTS was that they had lyrics that talked about real life issues, and they did everything on another level. I resonated with their lyrics, and the more I got to know them, the more I realized these guys are amazing humans and use their platform to help the world. Then I realized their fanbase was a community I wanted to be a part of. Then I checked out their solo projects and realized that individually they are amazing also. All seven of them. Please check out the introduction video if you are going to continue to react to their music.
