The outline scene is a tribe called quest video, I think not sure, I think the spray paint is a tribute to childish gambino, the other shots I'm not sure about but as a videographer I'm sure you will find out.

UK rappers/producers & video creators are on another level to anything coming out of the States at present, always ignored by American media. Our rappers are incredibly lyrical, expert free-style poets. So much impressive talent which, as I've said is largely ignored by America. Ace ur opinion is far from ignorant💯 1st, Jamaican bobsled took me out😂 and i agree 1000 percent on the infra red with the puffy jackets, and the bunch of faces in different boxes could have been for a different video. Imo those scenes definitely were least impressive to me alao. As far as throwing the kitchen sink at the viewer...yeah, i believe theres a time in place for a whole lot and bare minimum and just in between...and different reasons ffor using either. But for me, the complexity of them bars went well with a multitude of scene differences 🤷🏾 but then again, i dont shoot that diverse so who knows🤷🏾 ya know😂 thanks for ur insight tho, it was appreciated more than u think👊🏽💯

I just love this reaction- just rewatching again. You are correct. It is impeccable ! You POV about the cinematography and lighting was fascinating. The puffer jacket section Reminds me of Missy Elliot - puffers and slick black trashbags. Visually I do love the headless men- but the scare boats scene was too notch. This video and this song is freaking impeccable! I love Little Simz, would love for you to react to Introvert There were so many parts that were my favorites: the 360' °inside° the car at the beginning, the blue paint explosions on the walls when she's playing tennis, the levitation, the jamaican bobsledding downhill, the general crispness of the colours. I thought the chorus of Simz wasn't necessary, although I did really like the way that was lit, I didn't like the split face reference being used so much, and I would have opted not to go infra-red-inside-out with the dark puffy jackets, I thought that stood on its own beautifully, but I wasn't feeling the neon underside psychedelia of the same scene . All in all, I thought it was incredible. However, I don't know if I would want to have so many tiny incremental scenes that just flash by and then are gone. This is an exceptional song, I feel like the video dude didn't have to pull every bell and blow every whistle every single second of the video, you know? That is just my totally ignorant opinion though. Thank you for sharing your educated perspective with us

She's got early Missy/Lauren creative vision with late Missy polish. I'm fully convinced that she's one of the most complete MCs currently occupying the face of the planet. I'm biased toward the UK scene because it's been objectively embarrassing American rap for the last decade (if you can't admit Avalino, Cadet, Dave, Fredo, Stormzy, Central Cee, Arr Dee, etc are light-years above the American mainstream, don't even talk to me. Your opinion is wrong), but their female rappers would rather be in the conversation of objective greatness than be ass-out in a music video. For people like me that miss the incredible female OG MCs on the New York scene (like, damn, how you got me sprung wearing a North Face parka and Zubaz?), this is pure dopamine.

Totally Brutal! I have a theory that most of the best artists are ones you never hear about and every now and then a real artist breaks into the public consciousness and it usually doesn't go that well for the performer (The map is not the territory Simz). She reminds me of Billie Eilish (intellectual and arty), Missy (beep beep, who's got the keys to the jeep), Lauren Hill (precociously talented), j-hova (the music and braggadocio), and then I think of Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, both of whom kept it real. And got attacked for it. Strange fruit. Simz is like the outsider who studies and learns all his lessons and then evolves to becomes the respected voice because he has the credibility of his efforts, experience and intellect while the authorities cling to the fading credibility of their institutions and positions. Where's the work? Simz is putting it in, at least. Simz raps "Beating on my chest throwing apeshit//Putting in a graveshift//Ain't life what you make it?" Take it from the man.
