+Sondre S comparing encore with his other stuff it will obviously fall way short, but I feel like comparing to other stuff out it's not that bad. I mean as u said i can dig atleast 4 or 5 songs on the album. Although his lyrics at times lacked meaning he had quit a few songs like that show either great lyracism, meaning or humor. The problem is that people expect eminem to produce all of thease things in every song. I feel like he didn't create a song that had two let alone three of thease factors in them. An example being mockingbird is one of his most emotionell songs, but it lacked lyracism(even tho i think that the song doesn't need good wordplay because of it's context), Same goes fot mosh.

Lil Wayne might not be the most lyrically clever rapper (though he has his moments) and his verses do get kind of repetitive, but he's arguably the most successful, alongside Eminem and Drake. He's had more albums/mixtapes than any other successful rapper right now and has been featured on so many songs and albums. And not to mention he has a really unique voice, that even though sounds somewhat annoying at first, it's filled with character and seems to draw you in.

@misstahj56518 жыл бұрын
Drake doesn't even try to hide the fact that he uses ghost writers, it is common knowledge at this point. And either way the lyrics are fucking garbage and repetitive. Views had some of the worst lyrical content I've ever heard on a "rap" album. And no I'm not a 21 savage fan...he fucking sucks too, and so do mumble rappers, but my least favorite "rapper" is Drake, because he gets the most radio time by far and so people who aren't actual rap fans think that shit is good rap when its not. It's not even good music in the first place, and calling it "rap" is really stretching the boundaries of the genre very thin. (I do love take care and I like nothing was the same, I don't think he makes good music anymore and the music he makes can barely be categorized as rap.)
@SportBookSocial8 жыл бұрын
***** You must be thinking of old drake. Because newer drake is definitely not ghost written. I'm not saying he's a badass. But he's a good artist. If you're reading this it's too late was definitely not ghost written at all.
@IrenaDeacon8 жыл бұрын
i COMPLETELY AGREE...ITS AN ORRENSE TO RAP TO CALL DRAKE A RAPPER...whatever genre that is,its not music and with 30 ghost writers he still ends up being repetitive .i suggest new ones or him moving back where he came from. he earned enough and i we dont need more drancer(drake cancer)lol also my least favourite person on the charts i refuse to call him musician. maybe entertainer cause he learns what they tell him to and then perform it. simplke as that.he is an actor after all if u look at his past.

Okay... All I said was he was addicted to sleep medication... He even says he was addicted to it on his albums after Encore.
@jglgg74538 жыл бұрын
Bean Not even close to the same levels of addiction. Encore era was a 60 - 90 pill a day addiction. During Encore he was at the point that he couldn't even speak a coherent sentence much less write or rap one. Get your facts straight . In fact here's a quote from Em about Encore " When 5 or 6 tracks leaked from Encore and I had to replace them , I was pissed. So I thought fuck it, I'm gonna take a bunch of pills, go in the booth and just have a party with myself." Encore is most definitely a product of an insane level of drug addiction. Plus during encore he was also on ambien and methadone as well as vicodin . Ambien eats holes in your brain and memory making it almost impossible to think straight .

That's not an excuse for that shit album. Why didn't no one at the record label told him to stop and get checked for his addiction?

@@okagron Because the music industry has a long, sad history of expecting performers to continue putting out music, even when they're falling apart. Janis Joplin, Britney Spears, and Kurt Cobain are just a few tragic examples. The bigger you are, the more you get treated as a meal ticket.

Just wondering how Relapse made you think Eminem was just going to be an average rapper from that point on? The wordplay, flows and rhyme structures are just insane on it.

Annoying accents, incredible immaturity and jokes that he probably thought were funny but.........no. He became exactly what his critics always said he was.

I actually thought that most of the accents on Relapse were entertaining, some of them help made the songs memorable, Last Dance for expample.

@LT-xb5su6 жыл бұрын
Ryszard Kiliński First of all Eminem didn’t wash Wayne they both had good verses I think Wayne’s was better but I wouldn’t say Wayne out rapped him they both were good. Second, you are either lying or u didn’t listen to Da drought 3 No ceilings Dedication 2 The drought is over 2 (and all the other 6 mixtapes from the leak era) I could give u more but that’s enough for now

I agree with your critics BUT I STRONGLY DISAGREE with your opinion about "Encore". You forget about songs like Like Toy Soldiers, Mockingbird, Yellow Brick Road, Spend Some Time, Love U More, Mosh and more but all you talk about is "Ass Like That". Okay so he did one bad song, but there are 19 more!

8:20 you do realise all that stuff you mentioned was more than present in relapse. you also talked a lot about rhyming. bruh stay wide awake showcased one of eminems best rhyming ever. look up the rhyme scheme for that song.
@burnsy62628 жыл бұрын
autistic scottish lad i think his main criticism of relapse was the less mature nature of the lyrics. instead of the anger and maturity of eminems other albums, excluding encore, we get more childish lyrics. not to the extent of encore but it was still there
@makavelithelegend57388 жыл бұрын
Alex Burns yeah that would make sense, but he clearly mentioned technical ability at 8:20, which was incredibly displayed in relapse
