Well Done! I let myself get lost in to the picture to the point that I almost felt like I was there.

Very nice layout, lots of time put in the buildings, liked that unloader, it is different from the usual cable hoist, but for the staff there wasn't the need to pull the cables under the logs to unload them. Are there plans to weather everything, as track, ties, buildings and locomotives/rolling stock still looks very clean to me.

Glad you liked it.I definitely remember seeing weathering when I filmed at Mr. Holombo's layout. For example the caboose and the buildings at 0:53 definitely have some. The engines had some light weathering but it doesn't really show well in the video. Overall it's clear his style was more in the light rather than heavy grime weathering, and I really liked the overall look. Thanks for watching!

I know point to point is more realistic (see the video description), but I doubt I could bring myself to model a railroad like that. I would want to have the option of just letting the trains run around the loop.

I get that totally. I enjoy the run-around-the-loop design as well as the point to point and like a middle ground. That said it's a choice. In the case of Mr. Holombo, he could have easily fit a loop around the room as the stairs come in the middle, and he choose to do it differently. That's the beauty with track plans, they can be adapted to the owner's personality, and having seen him operate, he obviously is having a blast with his design.

Where did you get the log hauling cars? Do you think they would work on 3 rail systems?

I believe Mr. Holombo's equipment was all brass. The rail size for 2 vs 3-rail O scale is different so it would better to have the proper truck size; I have seen custom made 3-rail O scale log cars, you can google that.
