Andrew: Absolutely other worldly, beautiful, & serene. Reminds me of the best of Puget sound around Seattle Washington & the San Juan Islands. I think this is my favorite of your dives. VERY glad you are back to diving again. Bring us more! I need to spend some time in Australia & New Zealand. They are on my bucket list! - Jim

Used to fish off this jetty as a child back in the 70’s when it was still a working pier with conveyor belt and engine room etc. Vividly remember schools of tuna passing through the pylons below us and guys balloon fishing for sharks with heavy tackle.

The old pier is falling apart now. So glad they built this new one for access.

How'd you get the fish at 4:30 to pose for like that???

They are natural posers. Magpie Perch

I'm always amazed listening to the parrot fish nibbling on the coral. Seems to carry for miles. I'm absolutely green with envy. I haven't dove for years, my best trip was the Astrolabe reef in Fiji. Spectacular. 80 miles of unspoiled reef.

If you are referring to the crackling sound then you’ll be interested to know it comes from small shrimp. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnS6aGtvq89qqpY

@@28th_St_Air I was referring to the grinding of the parrot fish as they scrape algae from coral with their beak like teeth. But the shrimps are cool as well.

Interesting to see the variety and abundance of underwater life there in what , to a NorthOz resident, should be a rather poor and depleted environment!

Temperate diving is the best. All unique critters down here.
