SEC was paying players, getting relatives jobs, ghost classes, grey shirting, and other shady crap for over a decade. Prior to that, they were just another conference. Saban didn't do anything in the NFL or up north. He went were the shenanigans got played. When Urban came up he did the same crap. SEC is going back to normal now that everyone can play do it.

By “ghost classes” do you mean like the Independent Study classes that UNC funneled all their athletes through 20 years to keep them eligible? This idea that paying players and other shady business was SEC-exclusive is just laughable. UNC was doing it. Michigan was doing it. Oregon and USC and Oklahoma and Texas were doing it. The question was: to what extent were the schools willing to take it. There’s more transparency now, but let’s not act like it hasn’t always been this way.

I think its more that all of CFB has risen, not so much that the SEC has fallen.

It's simple. Ohio State is and has been the best team in the country all year but Michigan is so far in Ryan Day's head it doesn't matter. Ohio State doesn't have a coaching issue other than Thanksgiving weekend.

Ryan day almost admitted that he would rather win a national title than beat Michigan. Disgusting Mr Beardsley. Michigan split house Georgia fan here.
