Most helpful video on d scan I have seen in 10 years of playing. Thank you.

You can also hold "V" and click on anomalies, bookmarks, planets, etc. either in space or in the overview, and the camera will swing to perfect alignment and do a scan instantly. (Since you've reassigned it to the spacebar, hold that down and click.) You still have to wait for recalibration, ofc.

Good tip. I use that sometimes to quickly line up a gate.

Thanks for reminding me that CCP updated so you could make a shortcut for the scan btw. I used that a lil bit when it came out and then I guess it slipped my mind.

You can spam the button as much as you like but the scan will only be updated once every few seconds. You can see the timer delay by looking on the scan button's animated arrows, if they are moving then it's still going on. Pressing it constantly will only insure that you fire that scan immediately after it comes off the cooldown, but it's still going to be roughly every 2 seconds.

haha... I know but I refuse to accept CCP's limitation of the scan button. Way back when there was no forced delay. You could spam that thing as fast as you could click it and it updated every time. Sometimes you could even see what ship had jumped through the gate a second before they uncloaked on dscan. lol

Yeah, but they added that you can use d-scan with look-at, which is great. :)

great tip - seems like DScan is like Carnegie Hall - practice man, practice! but this demo showed a way that will really improve my approach. I've been getting to bogged down in the map and adjusting the cone instead of just this rapid fire freehand, especially for zomming down from 30 to 5 degree fix. Thanks.

Some people don't even bother with direction. They scale the distance in increments and when their target appears or disappears they reference an anoms in the scan window and look for one with that distance and find ships pretty fast that way.

Gukas Powerhouse I do a mixture of that and then if there are multiple warpables in range I do range finding then I find where they are

Well if you open the probe scan window and them close angle to 5 and them keep press V and click 2x on anomaly on probe scaner window is more faster than your way .
