I mean, in the end, everyone's just obsessing over fittings and chasing max DPS to win. But that ain't the real deal. I strongly believe the very first rule to master is "know your enemy." Everything else, like PvP skills, will just come with time. So with that video give you the tool to understand if you will win or lose before you step in to an fight. Watch out the examples in the video !
- If you want to see more of these beginners' guides, let me know !

@@smokinggun8418 Any ship/fit that in one way or another counters the target is as effective as boringly easy. Hecates are surprisingly effective against Thunderchlds. Proteus can be a bane of BS. But just because they are effective in certain situations doesn't mean it takes 0 effort or sense in both picking the right tool, and then actually using it. A great deal of PVP in Eve is all about creating environments where you have at least some advantage - doing otherwise would be plain foolish. Although I do agree the channel might not be the 'best' in showcasing skill/fits, there is something much more important being conveyed that old, hardened veterans often miss out on. The sense of adventure, risk, and doing one's best to avoid unnecessary losses. If nothing else, conveying the mindset alone seems valuable enough for me... Far too often people just suggest ship and fit, give a couple of pointers, shrug saying you'll lose it eventually anyway, and don't give much more insight into anything else. So, while not the 'best', the content on this channel is a much needed breath of fresh air imo :) As for whom to know first, yourself or you enemy... I'm in the camp completely convinced that knowing oneself is much more important... Firstly, one's own experience informs of possibilities the enemy might have. And confidence in one's own fit, gained under many a perilous battle, is much more important that possible slight variations in the enemy's fit.

I suffer from excessive bravery. Its a lot of fun so if you can replace the ships I'd say just go for it most of the time. I can make the isk back in a few different ways, most of which are mentioned on my channel. Microwarp drives increase signature radius to 500% so its not often the right time to use one. For small gang stuff everyone in the fleet carries a scram. We lost out on a Tempest kill one night because someone didn't follow orders. The enemy was well into hull, only one of us left and the target just warped away. The goobasaurus rex who thought he knew better is not invited to fleets now. The initial engagement in cloaky wormhole stuff is best done by warping the fleet onto the target and autodecloaking. Doing it manually means people decloak at different times and the target only thinks to warp out when they see you on their overview, not when you decide to warp in. So might as well have it happen when the entire fleet is 2km away rather than on the way in at different stages of decloaking.

Thanks for the feedback...! Totally get you - For me fleet PvP is a other level. It's crazy how much depends on the FC's fleet and leadership skills. I've been in fleets where the FC majorly suicide the complete fleet, even when we had outnumbered the others 3 vs 1 :-) Wormhole space? Super tricky for me tbh. I kinda love knowing who's around in the system...Lost 2 bil only because the wh collapsed...since that day i avoid WH space 🙂

A lot of this information seems either situational or untrue. Mainly that most small gangs don't have a fleet commander and its better that everyone works together with all their knowledge and skill.

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb Yeah, speed and range control is just too important, especially in hostile space. Brawling would just take away the ability to disengage, should any reinforcements drop. This is especially true if you're roaming through previously uncharted space and don't know the locals well at all... That said, Brawling can and does have it's place. Best reserved for when you're 100% certain the target is Solo, or that your DPS can finish it before any reinforcements can arrive. Although you could occasionally go full YOLO mode, and engage gangs with cheap blaster Thorax. Sometimes isk efficiency is the only thing you need to feel good about about the fight :) And you'll always remember the blinged out Draugur that managed to survive with just a sliver of hull...

Imo everything summarizes under just one rule - Knowledge is Everything. But intelligence gathering and everything else aside, the importance of knowing yourself part of the Sun Tzu's quote can not be overstated. No matter how vast one's theoretical knowledge may be, it is quite useless without actual practicing of said knowledge. Kiting is more than just a ship and fit, it's a skill. And one you need to hone to be good at it. Same apples to Brawling, Scram-kiting and sniping as well. It is important to not just know the capabilities of one's ship, but to also have the ability to use them. And nothing beats good old practice. Luckily, you can fit a cheap frigate for every main flying style. And a few dozen losses will go a long way in making you a more deadly pilot. As long as you keep aware of your surroundings, your inputs, and those of your opponent. Keep questioning and testing your decisions - whether you should've gone into a tighter or looser orbit, kept at-range or piloted manually instead. At which point should you start to heat, or whether not to heat at all to perhaps save cap. Which modules are the most important for you in any given fight - tank, prop, dmg, e-war... Which ones you can afford to burn out or perhaps even offline... You will make mistakes along your journey to learn. But so will your opponents. Just keep a keen eye out for any potentially bad decisions made - nobody ever said you need to learn from your own mistakes exclusively... Granted, initially most pilots struggle just to survive. But therein lies the opportunity - learning to survive is the same as learning to hunt, just one side of the same coin... Practice enough, and the situational awareness alone will become invaluable. Gaining a deep understanding of the game mechanics will allow you to pull of 1v2+ fights. And, once you learn to accurately evaluate your odds, and have the skills to ascertain or even improve them, killing blinged out vessels in cheap t2 fits will stop being a dream. But nothing ever starts without undocking... So go out and have your own little journey :) PS: Eve having the steepest learning curve isn't a joke. There are too many ships and modules to learn, but well... certain basics apply to a variety of ships/fits. So as long as you fly anything, you're actually learning quite a lot... Even if you don't realize it quite yet... ;)

I believe this was the most thorough and detailed feedback on this channel, and I really enjoy discussing fundamental aspects as well. With this text, you've provided valuable tips. Thank you for that. I believe over 6,000 ships are destroyed in Eve every day... It's hard to fathom how much ISK and, in conversion, how many euros/USD are then burned here. On one hand, it affects new players who are not cautious, and on the other hand, the endless wars in 0.0 sec where some players follow the alliance dictators... After all, there's no alliance in Eve with a democracy; instead, there's a dictator who decides with his leadership team, and often in coordination with the opposing side. Then tens of thousands of people are in the 0.0 war and burn massive amounts of ISK because everyone follows blindly... There are still fair alliances that then replace the lost assets, but otherwise, the player bears all the costs. As a new player, it's extremely difficult in Eve Online... Especially since the skill mechanic is ancient, meaning you, as a newcomer, will never catch up with a long-time player who has skilled properly, unless you spend vast amounts of money on skill injectors (pay to win). Even if you've bought an approximate skill level, you'll still lack experience. As a new player, you hardly stand a chance... The skill injectors are a curse; they don't give you any certainty... In the past, you could only skill over time. Experience grows over time. However, I believe the botters are the real eve online problem. They are the huge game problem and also a huge problem for new players. Botters script farm the in-game currency ISK without having to do anything for it. In a month, all Nyx bots can farm 1.1 trillion ISK if they are active only 10 hours a day. Bots can generate about > $10,000 of value. The more ISK that floods the market, the less value the work of honest new players and honest ISK farmers becomes. PLEX is becoming more and more and more increasingly expensive.
@mikspurins1455
@mikspurins1455 9 ай бұрын
@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb I totally agree on Bots being a complete menace. The impact on the game economy is just one part of the problem. The real issue is that Bot-funded accounts then enjoy an unfair advantage in terms of the ship/fit value. Granted, most of them don't know how to utilize their $$ advantage to begin with, but 100+ noobs in expensive hulls can still deal a lot of damage - if lead by a competent Leader... And let's not even talk about practiced PVP pilots who don't even need to worry about losing blinged out ships... Needless to say, a newer player can get easily discouraged, if their initial (or even recurring) roaming attempts get smashed by overblinged botters... As for the skilling issue - I actually find that one much less of a problem. Frigates are surprisingly useful and versatile. Granted, there are certain, often insurmountable, limitations that come with a small hull, but there are also advantages. And all things considered, a fresh alpha toon with 1mil free SP can become rather potent in a t1 frig. Ofc, that assumes you know where to put that SP into, but regardless - Frigates can be much more deadly than first appearances might suggest. All for barely any Isk/SP investment. Not to mention - with how much time is necessary to adequately learn module/ship info, and respective flying styles, the SP training time is the least of your concerns. Within the time it takes to train up to HACs one is unlikely to learn sufficient piloting skills to justify flying one to begin with... On a brighter note - even fresh Alphas CAN partake in PVP. There are plenty of groups recruiting and even willing to teach some basics. More importantly though - they regularly conduct sorties. Joining one's first fleet is disorienting to say the least, but being a part of one doesn't just allow you to punch above your ship's weight class. With an open mind, there are a lot of lessons to be learned, even while simply following orders. Joining a group also comes with the added benefit of dong... group shenanigans... :P Really though, Eve is a really curious game, where every aspect of it is in one way or another connecting you with other players. You can be the most solitary, self-sufficient carebear in the game, and you're still indirectly competing with someone else. And the game mechanics... It's rather curious, how survival techniques learned from exploration make you a much deadlier pirate. There is so much character progression happening outside the game... And it's one of my most favorite parts of playing Eve :)

Good vid and all you say is correct. I would say however that you don't have to be risk averse. Cheap ships can be very effective and taking on fights that perhaps you shouldn't, and then winning, is a lot of fun. Losing ships is fine, provided you can afford it and you learn something from the loss. In my experience, the most skillful PvPers lose a lot of ships. Some Red on your zkill is a sign you are having fun.

Depending on your preferences, Eve is GOAT. It offers pretty much anything. Role play, trading, crafting, survival horror... If anything, at times I feel that the main reason more people don't pick it up isn't because it lacks content. Rather - there is so much to do that people get dizzy and unable to cope with the possibilities. In the end, as fascinating as Eve is, I'd prefer to call it 'an acquired taste'... Many a tale of people starting to play for one reason, only to stay for a completely different one. Sadly, noone can ever tell for sure whether Eve will be a game for you. The only way to find out is dipping one's own toes in :) Oh, and Eve has probably the best community...

It takes a certain amount of skill to manage, but cap unstable fits can be very effective. Not fitting for cap stability generally allows you to add extra dmg, application or tank mods, which can often give you more than enough to win the fight within the time you have. That said, stability is ofc preferable, just that always aiming for it isn't necessarily the best idea. Skills learned while flying unstable fits can also save your behind when your stable fit gets hit with neuts...

Everyone likes to play their own way. I do think Eve should make it much harder to regain security status, and that there should be a much longer criminal timer... make it a month. That would bring the game more in balance. Lowsec and nullsec should be hives of villainy, and re-entering empire space should take considerable effort if pvp is the primary play style.
@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb

Indeed, I find myself at a -10 security status, which makes returning to neutral a challenging task. Tahts lead me in several weeks of PvE activities or invest a significant sum of ISK into security tags. We're talking about hundreds of millions of ISK to recover from a -10 status. As a pirate, the inability to travel in high-sec space is for me an element of unrealism in game. A pirate at sea is able to sail wherever he pleases. If I were in CCP's shoes, I'd allow pirates to enter high-sec zones but would substantially reduce the response time of Concord as a balance.

Choosing only to fight if you have an weaker opponent is a classic bully strategy, used widely all over the place. It does not make you a good fighter, but its the game i guess. I understand that capsuliers don't want to just loose there shit, sure. I don't understand mutch about MMO's but there is the fact that EVE Online has build in multi boxing !! That is just very "interesting" to me. Not the greatest "feature" in the gaming world. Why not just sell cheats for RWM and make it a "feature". Anyway, i guess ppl like to get a "Good Fight" for whatever reason in this context. I ask the question: does something like a "good fight" even exist in this kind of context? I got carried away at this point, mutch love! Safety first! Stay frosty!

Great structure and easy to follow. I dont agree with the whole ide of u offering him a deal to pay and get released. I am aware that the game allowes it and it isent against any rules and i belive she would have honored the deal hade he agreed to it. However this type of extortion would only harm the game more so then everyday scamming already has and there are ppl that would absolutly take advantage of that by offering u a low payment and still kill u anyway. Its by the games rules technically allowed but its something the vast majority of players hate and should not be promoted or encouraged.

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb Offering some1 a deal like for example payment for there ships release and after getting payed they still get killed is absolutly a scam. 2 partys made a deal and after getting the benefits 1 party breaks the deal. That is as close to a scam as u gonna get.

@@ThisisAmi-Eveonline-xi8fb cuz you are handicapped as an alpha clone Vs omega ones. Your skills reach a certain point while omega have all thus if you have same skills-exp as a pvp player you can't win against the same skills -exp opponet cuz your characters skills are locked after a certain point. Not to mention that alpha clones don't have cloacking neither access to triglavian ships... Thus it's a waste of time..sadly...

Real players of the game understand that it's impossible to know your enemy. You can know popular builds, but on the move, you don't have time to look at 20 zkill profiles on the fly. The ultimately best advice I give players as a 2003 pilot is that you should always seem weaker than your opponent. This is what ultimately draws fights to you. The rest is skill.
