‏‪‬‏Moondrop Concerto is the IEM I'm most curious about, as it has a distinctive driver structure and even a distinctive and large DD, but the only thing that makes it disappointing is that it has non-separable wires, which is a disaster at this price. I'm looking forward to reviewing it

It being an xmems driver means you can’t run it off a normal 3.5mm or balanced headphone jack, so unless you own an ifi Diablo-X you likely don’t have another cable you could put on it. But agreed that’s kind of a baseline expectation at this price.

@@SuperReview There is a DSP that runs on USP but it still has 2 pins so that might be strange or they could even put 3 or 4 pins if it is for transmitting power and information or they just don't want to use the wire that contains the DAC with something else or they plan to To sell this type of wire in the future separately

​@@SuperReview I think they could have made that special amplifier in a dongle form factor, so that you could still use detachable cables with Concerto. UPD: Just saw a page for a similar product from Hiby. It also has an undetachable cable.

Yea not being able to change wires is a big deal breaker. If that wire snaps, thats 300$ down the drain.

crin was also impressed with the speaker, curious to see how good it is value wise. Kadenz looks awesome. Cosmo is great, but the fit and comfort is not the best, really heavy as well. Most excited for the Truthear Pure (hexa 2 basically). I use my hexa everyday, looking forward to see how they've improved it.

Actually I need to take that statement back. It's more of Moondrop's perceived quality standards. I used to sell a lot of Moondrop TWS and IEMs and not a single unit was returned under warranty.

Been about 2-3 months since my last IEM purchase. I've been happy with what I've got, and nothing has really piqued my interest in the latter half of this year. The Kadenz looks promising, though I'm also cautiously optimistic about that one.

@@SuperReview Some oldies like the Kato and Hexa. Unexpectedly, the S12 pro (makes me wanna try the ie 600 now that it's around $450-600). J-ear 41t and Chopin. I still keep the Hype 4, Hana OG, and Orchestra Lite readily accessible, but I haven't listened to them in a while. The first 4 IEMs I mentioned cover all my bases, honestly.

Picked up Kadenz after CJ. It is on the way from the good people at SZA. Big deal for me, since I haven’t bought any sets in a couple years, but CJ demo was too impressive. Plus…Matte Steel. Looking forward to your expanded takes. Concerto is haunting me because it’s cool, different, gorgeous and dynamic/lively. I enjoyed my demo time, just need more usb-c gadgets in my life. Review the speaker if you’ve got the itch. Wish that speaker had the amp built-in.

Thanks Mr. Ryan! Sounds like you had an interesting trip. The Diablo X supports XMEMS but so far I don’t have anything to plug into it via 3.5 or 4.4 connection. Have you tried anything great that might fit the bill?

I've only heard Xmems stuff (that would work with the Diablo) at audio shows, and both products needed EQ. Singularity Oni is one.

Y'know, there are very few foods I don't like. In China, I enjoyed everything. There was a vaguely sour soup that was especially good, coconut hot pot that was delicious, and even a durian mochi dessert I liked.

Don't need to post the same question in multiple places. I don't really agree with recommending IEMs for specific genres (and I include "gaming" as a genre). Moondrop Dusk is the best at your price range.

unfortunately, unlike the IEM space, the number of "legit" speaker reviewers who 1) know what they're talking about and 2) have the equipment to measure to back it up, is very, very, very small. and neither of them is in that depressingly very small group. they're among the better ones of "the rest" but it is what it is... since speakers are so influenced by rooms, until someone puts it on a klippel or at least tries to measure it properly, those opinions are borderline worthless... :(

no problem at all. I am a fan of moondrop, only price sometimes big. Kadenz honestly would be happy for 140-150 dollars. But everything else not bad!
