But it might also just be that I'm comparing her to Jhin, which is a legendary skin, so obviously higher production value and design flexibility ^^ The human faces problem is especially prevalent in the "good guys" side of the skinline with the likes of Nidalee, Nami or and Ashe. My favourite part of this cosmic batch is the skin bios. Idk, I just really get a joy out of seeing how they integrate and retell the story of a champ while keeping some key elements of their character in place. Same goes for Street demons.

Personally, I think Bel'Veth's matriarch role fits her half-monster design far more than her original concept. She probably uses her human-esque form to appear friendlier whenever she approaches a potential paladin. While she uses her monster form to fight Dark Star entities. It's reminiscent to a protective parent. Sweet and caring to their own children, while being hostile to those that would threaten them.

I do know that they said DCE Jhin would be put into the reroll pool after a while but the chances of getting mythic skins from rerolls is so low that unless you own every skin possible you're most likely not going to get the skin ever.

Honestly, I really do like the Cosmic skins (when done well). The visual effects are the big sell, even Cosmic Lux I prefer because I like her glittery star vfx more than the Dark Cosmic ones. This batch really feels out of place though. The Cosmic Paladins is a neat idea, but it really does just feel like Stargazer without the name. Bel'veth is definitely my favourite in this one just cause she *is* a Cosmic. Knowing now that the Cosmic Court was destroyed in the wake of Lux's corruption, I really wish Cosmic Lux won instead. I feel like it would have been a more interesting story direction if Lux could take what she learned by resisting her own inner darkness and using that to help restore the Cosmics that have fallen to corruption. Of course that would just be an excuse to make Cosmic versions of the Corruptants, but story wise I think it would have been a more compelling story, one of redemption. You know. If Riot ever did any real followup to its universes.

Same thoughts. When the event arrive I remember choosing the Cosmic side even though I already knew darkness would win. Players always like dark/edgy better in LoL. Maybe the next skin line there's a cosmic saviour who brings Lux back end the great cosmic war starts. Let's not forget that also Star Guardian Kai Sa saw the dark stars, so they might join the fight.

After I thought about it more and as I used both, though, that’s when my preference changed. But like you said, everyone loves the dark and edgy, so DC was kind of the obvious winner before it even started. I do wonder how, if at all, the crossovers of the Dark Star into other universes will play out. Syndra in Star Guardian, Rhaast in Odyssey, I have to wonder if Riot will ever pay off these set-ups

Bel'Veth in both universes have the same outlook though. Bel'Veth wants to consume everything both because she's a voidborn and that what they do, but also because she wants to transform all of reality into The Lavender Sea. Just like in the cosmic skin, she wants the assistance of mortals to help her defeat the watchers, as the watchers want to destroy everything, and Bel'Veth doesn't want to destroy everything, she wants to remake it. So in both skins, she wants to protect what she is and what she represents from a force that just wants destruction by employing the help of mortals. Cosmic Bel'veth is just regular Bel'Veth in a slightly different setting

As a belveth main, i am fucking pissed, the champ (the main villain of the league universe apparently) got released, 4 nerfs in a row, forgotten, main mythic item removed for the sake of adc item variety, very inconsistent builds (she is still a decent champ at least) and then after a year of waiting her first skin is a generic cosmic skin line not even dark star. And now have to cope with no new skin for god knows how long

When I did play, I wanted a cosmic skin for my main. I wanted Cosmic Destroyer Urgot because in the natural flow of existence on the cosmic scale, destruction is necessary for the new to emerge, specifically for elements heavier than iron to form, a star has to undergo a supernova. Urgot as an avatar of that generative, necessary destruction would have been really cool as a concept, at least in my opinion.

for those who didn't take the time and turn the video play speed down or pause it every few seconds when the list of other skin lines that would have been better for a bel'veth pre-launch skin they go as follows: Star nemesis, High noon demon, Day Job, Coven, Elderwood, Mecha Kingdoms, Omen of the dark, Definitally not, Shan Hai Scrolls, Arcana, Street Demons, Bees (Bee'veth), Demonic, Fright night, Odyssey, Sugar rush, Deep sea, Zombies vs Slayers, Broken covenant, Faerie court, inkshadow, Monster tamers, Pretorian, And Worldbreaker! Also the only way i think the new jhin skin could work was if it just wasn't a skin but rather a chroma you could buy from the essence emporium otherwise as a skin between the low pull rate and the fact it's just a glorified re-color is dumb and not worth the money and i honestly feel bad for anyone who is trying to pull for it

I can't really see with my eyes the differences between each stars in the sky, but I still love to watch them shine. That's the same with Cosmic skins, they are not really different but they all (or almost all) use star particles and some Cosmic phenomenals as a polished aethetics (Lux' E, Kassadin's star Body unfixed,...) And I love Bel Veth's E and NUNU'S R OMG for that, but I'm star nerd so I'm probably biased :v (Long live original Cosmic Jhin too)

I remember a time when we meme'd into oblivion the fact that Ahri and Lux got a bajillion skins per minute... but then came 2019 and we got all the announcements for new games and everything seemed fine. Bel is one of the few I actually enjoy the cosmic treatment for, since its an inversion of her otherworldly nature coming from a heavenly space angle instead of the void angle. Same reason I like the Kassadin one. If those two were the only ones in the skinline I would be content.

Nautilus needed to be like a cosmoc sailor his hook a astrolabe/charting tool. Or have some sort of planet influence instead of pure cosmic. Like imagine if his body had like Jupitor for a core in the center and the hook be the many moons or a astroid belt. And his sheild could have been a fricken planetary ring like saturn.

I'm a huge fan of cosmic because I love trying to wrap my head around the sheer scale of the skinline and just how massive they really are. I guess it's no surprise I like this skin line when they were compared to vanilla ice cream... (My sandwich order from any sandwich place is a ham sandwich with mayo and nothing else) I don't really get what the drama with the jhin skin is... like no it's not justified at all, it sucks, but... it's not even good. The mask is the one cool thing about it but other than that I'd rather the base dark cosmic colors. I do really think they have to come out with mastery skins tho. Like when someone hits a million points on a champion, there should be a skin line or something. I haven't personally hit a million on any champion yet because I don't have that kind of focus or commitment, but I do really hope they eventually do something to reward people putting a lot of time into a champion.

what frustrates me deeply about Cosmic is that it just doesn't go hard. Dark Star goes hard to make its champs look like corrupted beings of singularity. Cosmic is just "now they blue and gold and they glow" and maybe ooooooh they have constellations inside ooooooooooooooh how ingenius please give us Cosmic skins built like Dark Star and not blue human with vague star theme
