Jhin really shows what the peak of a non traditional role should be. A distinct gameplay that doesn’t feel like it’s too overtuned or too uncomfortable, unlike K’sante. Can’t wait for the Lewis CCR in October

What's amazing to me is how so much of Jhin's character is based off of specifically Western notions of opera/symphonic works, classical music (violin, obsession with four acts, etc.), and motifs in art, yet blends this near perfectly with more Eastern visual aesthetics so that he reads as very Ionian in nature - another win for Johnny!

Something that I love about his lore story when he’s preparing for the confrontation with Akali, Shen, and Zed, is that it reveals how impractical his entire suit is, and how that impracticality is what feels right to him, he does it on purpose because it’s apart of his vision, and what I love about this is that it’s conveyed in his visual design. Like the giant thing on his shoulder is the battery that powers his ultimate, which makes sense until you realize “wait why does he put all of that weight on his shoulder and not his back or something?” It’s because he likes it that way. Why does Jhin primarily use a pistol and quickdraw a rifle instead of the other way around, because that’s how he prefers it. Why does Jhin where a black suit that’s hard to breathe in? Because that’s how he wants to show off his aesthetic. It’s just really cool.

I honestly like the concept art of Jhin without his mask, because I think his face is honestly perfect for him. He's not particularly ugly or deformed, yet also not attractive enough to stand out. He looks like just a generic asian (or, well, Ionian) dude in his late 30s/early 40s, not anyone who would stand out, and I think that really suits him.

This has never officialy been made canon, but I believe Jhin's writers imagined Jhin's face to look utterly and completly...average. Just the most bland, typical background NPC guy imaginable. And I think that's the best possible direction for Jhin, even better than to keep it a mystery the whole time. It fits his character perfectly and imo even adds to it. Because realistically, if we are ever getting Jhin in some big long form story content, we're gonna have to see him unmasked because he does regularly unmask and act as a regular guy.

Someone pointed out that if you type Jhin on a QWERTY keyboard you draw the number 4. Also, I think it's fun that when Jhin was released Riot forgot that pink wards had 5 hp, so Jhin had to awkwardly wait to reload and it was super annoying. So they had to change control wards to have 4 hp instead.

You have no idea how much I love Jhin. He is one of the few reasons I even bother to play league to this day. 4 (ha) champions keep me from uninstalling the game, and Jhin is one of them. I've also developed an obsession for the number four, and find it mandatory to yell "FOUR" every 4th shot, or stop at quadrakill. I actually don't mind Jhin's unofficial face reveal in his concept art, since he's described to be completely average and normal looking that he can blend in on the background. His face in the concept doesn't stand out much, he's not ugly or handsome, just generic, and I love it. Jhin has to be one of those villain characters that I root for, not because he's morally right or doing any good, but because I want to see what he does next. He's just that entertaining and satisfying. I can ramble about Jhin being pure perfection all day.

Jhin was my favorite champion of all time. I may not play League anymore, but Jhin still the peak of character design in the game for me because he feels like a respectable champion to play as and against unlike some 200 years champion that can do a load of BS while barely breaking a sweat while also filling your taxes, running for presidency and do your neighbor's wife during a team fight.

I think a big part of why Jhins skins slap so hard is that his design just lends itself well to so many themes. At the end of the day he's just a guy with a gun but he has plenty of things going on that can be used for unique ideas. The camel hump, the mask, the weird shape of his gun. They all can be adapted into all matter of themes and Empyrean is the one that really doesn't do that (even though I like Empyrean because Pyke bias) so it falls flat. It uses the design language of the skinline well but it's just not a good fit for Jhin.

When the champion himself says it it means it's legit Jhin is so viciously evil, twisted and theatrical, its the perfect combo for a villain! I remember when he was being teased by "killing" vi, sona, garen and zed. Whether that's still canon or not its up to debate but man what a way to tease a new champion. I think they never did this type of teasing again, outside of bel veth.
