Deepest sympathy to all those affected. Grew up in Austin on Turtle Creek which flooded every 10 yrs! Just a nightmare to go through!!! I’m so sorry!

I almost can't believe the difference of how Minnesota is responding to the deluge versus Iowa and South Dakota.

Yesterday they said the water will rise 2 feet if the dam fails. The water has risen 4 feet since and today they still say it'll rise 2 feet if the dam fails. I'd prepare for more than 2 feet if I was downstream...although it's unlikely the dam will collapse now that the water made a wide enough path.

I thought the Mississippi river was running out of water as well as all the other long rivers in the country. But, lo and behold look….they are now flooded? So, I guess the scientists were wrong again!

Hydro power house....could have had a water mill attached over 100 years ago....very common here on East Coast. Many times there's renovations done, and all that's left is the house. Also, people built near rivers back before the modern powergrid....water is life.
