The acclaimed Director, Mark Toia has taken a magnificent look at the Rapido 60 and its features when in Indonesia.

"This was a very interesting project. On my way back from Vietnam, I dropped into Batam Island off the coast of Sumatra (Indonesia), to film a friend's (Rapido Trimarans' Paul Koch) brand new amazing carbon fibre yacht (Rapido 60) he had just built. Literally, a week or two old. TALK ABOUT FAST!
"Stable and so easy to sail! It's very much the cruising boat of the future.
"I didn't have all my normal crew or cameras with me and decided to shoot this on a tiny SONY A7s, which was pretty much useless when shooting from a dinghy in rough water. I asked my son to purchase a little DJI OSMO for a bit of fun and to bring it up with him (which ended up being a life-saver). And we also we asked a DJI drone crew to come in from Jakarta to help out as well. The stability results from these little DJI cameras were outstanding!
"The RAPIDO TRIMARAN people were more than happy with the end result. :) And me being a very fussy camera nerd... was blown away! Will these little toy cameras replace my RED CAMERAS... No. But I have to say, they were the perfect tools for this project."

On all the videos about RAPIDO and also on others that mention them, there are a large number of comments about the differences between RAPIDO yachts and various CATAMARANS. And about the cruising aspects for a family, amount of room, loading weight capacity, helm stations, auto pilots and the like. HOWEVER, you cannot compare the type of yacht to anything else, without knowing what you want. After you have considered all factors to determine WHICH yacht MOST SUITS your intended use, then you make your decisions about purchase, and any addons or modifications during the construction stages. RAPIDO yachts are not apartments on the water, simply because they are not designed to be. They are designed so that modifications can be done to enhance areas to suit your needs, depending upon those needs. Sadly, there are far, far too many people out here that profess to be experts on other peoples needs. And they do not know anything about requirements of the person/persons that they are talking about. And they make comments as if they do, making claims as to the better suitability of other yachts, and worst of all they try and present arguments about safety, performance, costs, etc as if they know better than the person/persons that they are talking about. But this is just human nature, some people always try and dictate to other people what they should do. They always have ulterior motives, be it jealousy, domineering personalities, making more money out of them, ( most used car salesmen for example ) or are just pure argumentized in TFAR Thought Processing bad habits. So pay them no attention, they thrive on it as it feeds their bad mentality habits they have elected to have. Let them keep their bad negative thoughts, we will keep our good, positive and supporting thoughts, feelings, actions and help see the results in the fantastic adventures of a positive family continuing, on a RAPIDO. To the design and construction crews, you people have done an excellent job, and we all support and encourage you all in the future. And to the know-it-alls out there, go examine your own life. Make the modifications to your thought processing capacity, and fix the leaky holes you spew forth utter crap from.

As a single handed large sailboat, or a couple, this is the best I’ve seen online. Maybe even two couples on a holiday. It looks easy to handle and thereby safe, even for a spacious and a big boat. Options I would ask for: I believe there is an issue regarding the helm station, if you wanna sell outside the most warmer climate. Also electronics enameling me to avoid obstacles in or under water, radar and good navigation, is not mentioned. You don’t mention anything about autopilot, that has to be more reliable than normally seen, on boats an yachts. As wind vane is not a option on a trimaran like this. I can’t take a look on the craftsmanship, but otherwise I believe this to be a perfect boat. I wish it was within my reach.

I'd like to see a video with 8 foot seas ! I can't see but two couples enjoying the boat having only 2 cabins . A birth for one or two more in the salon isn't practical because it is shared space by everyone !

Would love to see real world footage, in 4m waves, crossing the atlantic or similar. It is a sv which fits my needs in terms of enough space, comfort, safety and versatility. And those ‘reviews’ out there are scarce and very limited.

I think Lagoon catamarans have rain enclosures and you can order windshield wipers and a heater and a stereo system too. Oh, and lights, don’t forget the lights. And a mini fridge. And a little helm station sink, how convenient is that!

Of course it can. If you talk to Rapido they (or someone else) can build whatever you want. And compared to the cost of the boat - something like that won't cost much either...

Impressive stirring musical interlude but Rapido was demo'ed on almost flat seas. What does she do in 1 - 3 meter seas & 15 -25 knots of true wind? Those wave piercing hulls better have excellent sealed port lights and "dogged" door seal for its entry hatch or it will quickly become a very expensive submarine not designed as such.

Since then Hull 1 has crossed the Atlantic and sailed in lots of heavy weather , Hull 2 has been across the Tasman twice ! Zero issues with leaks in the floats and the hatches are designed for the job they do ! They don't leak !

It's a 60 foot yacht rated Class A (Ocean). How many boats smaller than 60 foot have circumnavigated this planet?... Sailing La Vagabonde are going to have this as their next boat. Now granted - you did not know that when you wrote your comment, but do you think they would buy a boat that they can't cross oceans with?...

Nice-looking rig but I don't suppose it can fly I'm looking for something that size but is equipped so that if you have to you can get your ass out of Dodge real fast and not sitting there disturbing the water instead why don't you have foils on that

@@testicool013 I have been a sub since the channel started. Retired Navy. The living space on a Rapido 60 will be smaller than that Outremer 45. Also I am not the ONLY person who shares this opinion. There are dozens who question this choice. But it's THEIR choice. Love this channel. I just offered an honest opinion. You took a shit on it like you're the authority on sailing. You're not.
