Here is some information about Dynamite. BTS were supposed to do a world tour in 2020 to promote their album Map of the Soul: 7 (it was supposed to be their last album before they enlisted in the military-released in February 2020). But obviously due to covid the entire tour was postponed and eventually canceled. It was a very difficult time for everyone including BTS who didn't know what to do. But then they decided to release a song to lift people's spirits during covid and the result was Dynamite- their first fully English song. And the song was a huge hit, bigger than even BTS had anticipated. It broke the record for the most viewed video on youtube in 24 hours with 101.1 million views (BTS would later break this record with their video for Butter), earned BTS their first number 1 song on the billboard hot 100 chart, and it gave BTS their first Grammy nomination for best pop duo/group performance. To this day BTS is the only kpop artist to have been nominated for a Grammy (they now have 5 Grammy nominations total). Dynamite is also the most streamed song by a kpop artist on Spotify with over 1.8 billion streams on Spotify.

You were right! That was V! Well done. I remember crying when I first saw the video. The song is fun, but not really my favourite. It doesn't *feel* like BTS to me, which makes sense as it wasn't written by them. However, it was the sentiment that made me cry. The fact that the whole thing was in English (not actually their first full English song, there was one they did with Steve Aoki, Waste It On Me, but I don't think it was released as a single) meant it was a message they wanted to send to the whole world. It stayed away from the subject of the pandemic because they wanted it to be an escape. They wanted us to forget our troubles for a few minutes. I think it also says something that even my least favourite BTS song still makes me smile.

Dynamite was a Summer hit. =0] About Dynamite they literally decided to do this song on a whim in the middle of the pandemic because they wanted to cheer people up in such hard times ^^ They're very hardworking, and have spent their careers writing songs about all kinds of things, like all kinds of different kinds of love (they are very adamant about promoting self love) , heartbreak, societal issues, mental health, following your dreams, helping others, and just a lot of cool stuff that's important to them, and things a lot of people are afraid to touch on, that they will dive head first into. They're also all very down to earth, and very funny. ^^ Thanks for checking out BTS! Dynamite was actually BTS's first full Eng song! Now they have 3 in all. Butter and Permission to Dance. Dynamite got them their 1st Billboard #1! Now they have had more than 3 of them. Kings! This song was written by 2 American songwriters who have written for Jonas brothers and other popular groups. And they liked it and sung it in Eng because they loved that version more. Dynamite was created to give Army some energy during the pandemic. BTS is all about that positive energy. JK youngest vocalist is a sub rapper. J-Hope the 3rd rapper is a sub vocalist. BTS = Bangtan Seoyeondan (in Korean) aka Bulletproof Boy Scouts (translated).
