Bilingual person here. "Bae" used here is used as a shortened slang for "Sun Bae" (rappers/artists who came before them) and or "Hoo Bae" (rappers/artists those that are up and coming). Yeah, Suga and RM are the main writers from what I understand. RM as designated translator (with a 148 IQ) is usually the one to answer foreign interview questions, but Suga catches everything just as quick, often reacting to questions well before they're translated.

Cypher Pt.4 is basically ‘Sorry not sorry.’ They're rapping how they don't give af about the haters anymore as they're already too big to even know their names.. These cyphers are for the haters, specially the hip hop’ community i.e the underground rappers of which both RM and Suga were once a part of. They openly looked down at them calling them girls for wearing stage make-ups and also at their name BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan) meaning bulletproof boyscouts in Korean. So yea, definitely check out the rest cyphers as well.

There are live version's from concerts and of course Asian Award Show's. Also there are MV's from their solo mix tapes. Oh you'll find Suga's under his other stage name Agust D which is Suga backwards with D T standing for Daegu Town where he's from. Also it's a reference to his old group group where he was as Gloss when he was in the 'Underground' Rap/Hip Hop scene. RM was also well known before BTS as he was part of the same underground scene. It's why the two of them got a lot of hate from the underground scene as they said they'd sold out and were girls because they wore make up stage. They also go a lot of hate from the kpop(idol) scene because they were thought to be 'too ugly' to be kpop idols.

When you are watching/listening to something that is translated from another language it bears remembering that there is a lot of context lost in translation. Their bars are doubles, triples, puns, cultural references and clever wordplay across multiple languages, primarily English and Korean, but also including Japanese, Spanish and other languages in different songs. In this song for instance, RM's use of bae is both short for "baby" in English, as a diminutive used insultingly to haters, but also short for Hoobaes and Sunbaes in Korean, which is people younger or older in the S Korean rap scene who were attacking him. It's worth doing an "explained" video for them if you haven't. DKDKTV does good ones with translation nuance and cultural context to really help you appreciate the lyricism. BTS are geniuses.

"Fun" fact : on top of being amazing rappers, singers and dancers, the members are also serious songwriters and producers. They really work hard for their craft. I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group and how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. That was my case when I first became a fan (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. You could also try some of their solo stuff: RM "Wildflower", "Still Life", "Joke", "Do you" and with Balming Tiger "Sexy Nukim" Suga "Nevermind", "First Love" but more often under Agust D "Daechwita", "Agust D" and with Psy "That That" J-Hope "Arson", "More" and "On the Street" with J. Cole "Not Today", "Fire", "Dope" They are a group. As such you usually get MVs with all of them. There are some "Intro", "Interlude" and "Outro" vids for only one of them: "Intro: persona" (RM), "Interlude: Shadow" (Suga) and "Outro: Ego" (J-Hope) Thank you for the reaction! Me, that I know 2 languages, i know that if you traslate one language to another, songs dont make sense. I know English and Spanish and even if i translate lil wayne,Drake, or even Tupac's lyrics to spanish, they really don't hit the same, it doesnt make sense... so BTS rap songs might sound hard and better in Korean and even make sense.

The rap line is the backbone of BTS. RM formally known as rap monster now known as real me was the very first member of BTS he and the owner of big hit entertainment are both the creating forces of BTS. REM was the very first member of BTS and he is the leader of BTS! He worked closely with the founder of big entertainment to handpick the other six members of BTS! the second member of BTS is Suga he is the main producer of the music and produces music for other K pop artists. The third member of the rap line J hope was a street dancer in a dance crew for 10 years before joining BTS he is the lead dancer and the dance leader. He actually learned how to rap after joining BTS and was helped along by RM and Suga. All seven members of BTS are songwriters' composers and producers but the three members of the rap line are the main lyric writers and composers. When the group was mostly formed J hope decided he was not a good fit and was going to leave the group RM convinced him and the CEO of big entertainment that the group would not be complete without J hope.

RM is also mine favorite, and his word play is also awesome but they are all great . They all have their own style. Rm writes the most song he is credit for over 200 and produces the second most, Suga produces the most songs and writes the second most. Jhope does both but also helps form the dances and teaches the others a lot of the time. The rap line is awesome ,but the vocals are also great

The reason there is no MV is because the guys have a rule, that if a track says "BTS" on it, then all 7 of them are either in the MV or there is none. If you ever notice when they do a Collab with someone and it says 'FT BTS" but it only has a few of the guys that they are not in the MV. Now, solo works they do show in MVs for. So Any Rap line songs have no MV and Neither does Vocal line songs.

Yeah this is the problem with crossing over with another language. There are all kinds of clever rhyme schemes throughout their bars, from RM to Suga, but we can't understand them without Googling them (like the Kaws reference). It's so much more complex than we can tell. Damn it sucks for them and us.
