Welcome back ! Yes, this and their other evolutions are filmed and recorded live. They do 4-5 takes and pick the best one. Generally, if you see mics in a video they are recording live, though I assume the audio is still edited and mixed. Suggestions for more Pentatonix -- "Happy Now" and "Sing" (their originals), "Shallow", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", "Dreams"

Scott is a *lyric* baritone, which means that his voice extends into both the tenor and bass ranges. Kevin is another lyric baritone, which is why people sometimes think he's a tenor. Avi is a lyric bass; his voice extends into the baritone range (despite the fact that his lowest notes have been enough to blow out amps during performances).

PTX used this "sofa" setup many times in their early days when their production budget was not that deep. If you noticed on Bohemian Rhapsody they used a sofa again, this was in respect to their earlier recording days.

Good to see you reacting to PTX again! Missed you. You always have great comments. Yes...Scott is a baritone, but he does sing falsetto when the music calls for it. He has quite a range. I love it when Kevin sings, too. A lot of people say they would like to hear full versions of these songs PTX.

Kevin did not sing in Halleluiah. he did sing in amazing grace and Mary did you know and Imagine. He rapped in Sing and he rapped in Butter x dynamite. He also sang some in a little space

I was going to say the same thing - my only complaint is that they didn't stay long enough on each song. I was a tween/teen in the 80's so there is tons of nostalgia attached to these songs for me.

Okay how to. This is a BTS on their Evolution of Beyonce. Same technique used in this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6q4aqp8i9-Npac Avi does percussion as well as bass and won an international competition for it before Pentatonix. They even changed the name from beatboxer to rythmn section to give it to him. 😎 He and Kevin got so tight that Kevin said Avi would automatically know when he needed to take a breath and cover him.
