Kevin SLAYING the beats!! 👉And YES THEY ACT!! -The Trio (Scott, Kirstie and Mitch) starred in an episode of Bones. -PTX also had a small part in Pitch Perfect 2. -Kirstie has been on Broadway!! -Scott has done character voice work LITTERALLY they are ALL multi talented. They're not dancers, they've said it themselves. They can mostly follow choreography but it makes it more difficult to sing, especially with how precise they have to be. 😅

Scott, Kirsten and Mitch met, sang & acted together, became friends and competed against each other in high school and summer theater groups. Kirsten has done some broadway and if you do some searches there are a lot of videos out there talking about their “younger years”. Some behind the seasons is likely on the Sing-Off season 3. I know they missed graduation I think it was to do the audition. Kevin dropped out of Yale medical school. Their backstory is as interesting as their talents. They are historical when back stage, on sets and in their spin-offs like Superfruit. If you like doing reactions to more than just music they do some great lists and tips on stuff like excuses for dumping a date, one liners, etc. they just really show us themselves off stage, having fun, being bffs, even if you don’t do reactions to them all as I know you have a family to spend time with too 😉

For me it's the other way around. Growing up music was not a thing. We were a TV family so I never got into music groups. When I discovered Pentatonix it changed my music world. Thru Pentatonix I have discovered so many groups I would never have know of. The funny thing is for most of these songs my first time hearing them is by Pentatonix. So for this reason Pentatonix is always my favorite version. After a Pentatonix song I do check out the original but by then I already heard the upgraded version by Pentatonix.

Run to you is THE best harmony's they have ever done and Sing has the same kind of vibe as Can't hold us. Pentatonix, is in my opinion the GOAT when it comes to singing!!!! They have been in a movie. They were in one of the Pitch Perfect movies. Matt has his own channel and sings awesome worship songs. Kevin cello boxes and sings on his. He can also play the sax and you can find videos of him playing it when he was younger. You can also find Scott and Mitch have their own channel and album. It’s very funny. Scott plays piano.

FUN FACT: Speaking of acting, Scott, Kirstin and Mitch were celebrated with a star on the Walk Of Fame in Arlington, TX, on 3-31--23, in front of the theater where they performed musical theater as kids. They had just wrapped up the first leg of their world tour in New Zealand so they could not attend but some of their parents did attend.

@@debrawalkermeyer9109 I have yet to find and watch the behind the scenes here, I know - bad Pentaholic! - but I do remember reading something somewhere once (ie take with a big grain of salt!) that the outfits had to do with high school experiences; so, Scott was in the 'too cool' group, Mitch was a nerd/geek, Kirstie was in Performance Choir, Kevin was into Church Choir, and Avi was into the outdoors. At least that is my foggy recollection of what I read a loooong time ago. Very much subject to correction. LOL!

I'm a new subscriber to your channel and am loving your PTX reactions! If you haven't seen Mitch and Scott's spin-off channel, Superfruit, I think you're in for a treat -- it's short episodes of ad-lib singing, serious singing, , goofy banter, insane yoga, and random fabulousness. I recommend their "Hip-Hop Goes Broadway" episodes (two parts, plus bloopers at the very end) in which they sing lines of famous hip-hop songs, complete with dirty lyrics (tastefully bleeped out) in the style of perky Broadway show tunes; "GUY.exe" (a catchy tune and very professionally-done music video in a Rocky Horror vein); and "Frozen Medley" (a thrown-together musical filmed in someone's living room, featuring Kirstie and complete with weird wigs and the fakest snow ever -- also has hysterical bloopers at the end.) Enjoy!

Honestly, for the majority of songs they cover, I don't like the original! Or never heard it. Or I prefer Pentatonix's version, at the very least!
