The lyrics are also, in my opinion, a message for the Kpop industry in which Idols like themselves are pressured to act « pure and innocent », always put on a perfect facade, can’t have a « past », and are shunned the second they make a mistake or something that some fans don’t approve. It’s true in most industries with celebrities, but the Kpop industry in on another level. Anyway, I really like this song, and once again, I loved hearing your thoughts on the MV and lyrics. I think the colorful/neon styling and the all black looks representing the two side of them (what they want to be vs how they act in society) and towards the end of the song, their look is a synthesis of both neon and black looks.

Skz director are the coolest ever, they always made skz songs true to life. Even the smallest detail of the lyrics was the actual visuals and transition in the mv. So basically skz directors didn't make transition just to make it cool but because it suits in the storyline of the song.

Maybe the bird sounds and theme is describing the proverb, "A bird of a feather, flock together." Which means we're attracted to things that are the same or similar in looks to taste or hobbies etc. So, this would go with the song as it pertains to explain that being odd or unique is perfectly fine and it's ok to "dance to a different beat of a drum."

Wow, soo on point! Seriously love your Stray kid's breakdowns. You always catch something I miss lol. Your perspective is so unique yet always aligns perfectly. I've been knowing this but forget that these boys have actually never been "normal" with any of their music projects. From pre-debut with "Hellevator" to "God's menu" to "Maniac" and everything in between- the hidden meanings and relevance in their messages have always been there. It's just a matter of perspective and looking for them. It is the best feeling when you have found a group that embraces the many ordinary yet 'oddinary', or not normal things that everyone faces. They've never shied away from expressing this vulnerability and realistic part of their lives and of many peoples, hence their name Stray Kids ;). Love and respect them even more for that. It makes us (stays) feel more connected with them. I highly recommend doing an album review for this mini-album. It's called "Oddinary" and has 7 tracks including 'Maniac'. Hope you take our word for it. It is even crazier than Maniac and Maniac is already insane. You are going to love some of these tracks no doubt about it!

I discovered SKZ with this song. I immediately fell in love with their rich sound, their amazing visuals and imagery and not gonna lie - theyre also all super cute in their own way. But what initally captivated my attention, is Felix's deep voice. I had to stop the video, rewind and go listen to it a few more times because I was so amazed. Immediately after, I googled them and when I found out the guy who's deep voice I liked so much was named Felix, I had a moment, because that's also my stepkid's name and he was the first one to make me try to listen to kpop. For reference, im in my late 30s and always been a punk/ metal person until a few months ago. Now, im really into stray kids and Twice. Im gonna go look if youve reacted to some twice. I like the way you describe things so enthusiastically and accurately. Took me a few more watches to see and hear everything and get all the connections and stuff!

Oddinary is like (for me) Michal Jackson, Prince, Linkin Park & Peter Gabriel put in a blender & tada Stray Kids Oddinary. You know they are going on tour? You should go! If you pay attention, whe they're being "normal" (at the end of th MV) the bird is in the cage. But when they're free, when they're themselves (maniac) the bird is free and flying around. I'm not sure but I think that's the symbolism 😉
